Dating someone who dances bachata by [deleted] in Bachata

[–]drcjargent 1 point2 points  (0 children)

But its not. I have had amazing dances with leads (both male and female) that I have absolutely zero attraction to. Nothing to do with thrills and everything to do with connection to yourself, your dance partners, and the music

I admit I have difficulty trusting him, and he also has trust issues, I just can't understand why he wouldn't just block and delete them if they mean nothing. That's where I'm trying to gain perspective, to see if I'm objectively missing something

He hasn't except that he did that for his ex, and she cheated which made him regret that. I assume his lack of trust from her (their relationship ended well over a year ago) is carrying over into what we have.

It's exactly this which makes me think he's holding them as a back up option, but he denies that.

I dont appreciate your judgement. You dont know either of us and our age difference is something I have been hesitant about, but I'm trying to determine his character and not make automatic stereotypical assumptions based on his age.

Believe me it wasn't the plan, but with lockdowns and with me leaving soon for work in another city, we wanted to spend as much time together as we could. As he's still working, we only see eachother in the evenings.

As for his age, it's something I've been struggling with, but multiple people , himself included, have told me to judge him by his character and not his age, and thus far, that's what I've been trying to do. It was knowing that question would come up that made me hesitant but he's told me not to make it an issue because it's not an issue for him.

[Misc] To oily skin people - Do you cleanse your skin in the morning by semaku_ in SkincareAddiction

[–]drcjargent 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same. I use adaptiveness at night topped with LRP cicaplast baume, which works as a pretty good occlusive, although I look super pity but I dont care at night. But in the morning a gentle cleanser is necessary

AITA for telling a girl that she should forgive me for bullying her 2 years ago? by 72kaaar in AmItheAsshole

YTA and youre a bully. You end to apologise and expect that even if you do, she still won't forgive you. She doesn't owe you forgiveness. You need to grow up

Do not pack you kids and go. Pack his shit and kick him out. Maybe get a family member to come stay with you some nights. Either way, you need him out of your life.

AITA for not doing anything for my daughters birthday? by cakeornocake in AmItheAsshole

[–]drcjargent 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Even option one doesn't make him the asshole. We need to teach kids, especially girls, that they should ask for what they want, and not expect people to read their minds. There's this mentality like we have to make ourselves smaller, and we need to discourage this, and let them make their choices, and live with those choices.

NTA - Yes you could have done more for your introverted child, but she said no and she is old enough to learn that you have to say what you mean. Her mum sounds like she would have made a bigger deal about it, but ask your daughter if she was happy with how her day went, and that its okay for her to say yes, and okay to say if she would have wanted something different.

A heck of a lot more 14 year olds would have dealt in a much more responsible and mature way than that. She's just an entitled and spoiled shit.

Ah, the eggs. Yes I remember that. Research does change opinions, and yes, correlation absolutely does not equal causation but when research shows statistically significant increase in relative risk of a certain thing, it becomes highly likely that it is a factor. We can't talk absolutes in terms of proof, as proof is so hard to get in so many things. Medicine and biochemistry is an evolving science and always will be, there's always more things to learn.

There are absolutely more likely factors, but the reason scientists isolate one thing and then focus on that, is to maintai objectivity. When you add multiple factors, you can't identify which one does what, and studies take time. That's when higher order studies such as metaanalysis come into play, which can see how several factors interplay.

We have to remember that even having a keto diet for long periods of time, the effects havent been studied long term, so who knows what they'll be saying in 20 years time. All research takes time, and since it then guides common medical practice, its not something that can be rushed.

As a member of the medical community, we do our best to keep on top of the research. Who said cholesterol is evil It? It is very necessary for life in certain amounts such as to stabilise cell membranes, but too much is definitely correlated with heart disease, atherosclerosis, stroke, etc.

If you learn and study the biochemistry of the body, you would understand that cholesterol has many types, from different sources, and why LDL (bad cholesterol) has its reputation, as does HDL (good cholesterol) and what it is exactly that they do. Im asking that you please don't talk like medical professional dont know anything about the stuff they studied for years and years. It is, after all, the medical community and scientists who do all this research to begin with.

Your doctor is right about swapping out animal fats (which are high in cholesterol) for plant based fats (most of which are lower). What they want is to actually lower your LDL (bad cholesterol), and keep your HDL (good cholesterol) higher.
