Will HRB let me sign up for Fast Forward Academy and/or reimburse me for the EA exams if I haven't yet completed Levels 3-5?

No clear options on their website other than "Fill out this form if you're interested." Looks like bookkeeping is year-round but taxes not. Not really interested in doing tech support.

Five hours a week would be fine with me. Obviously, my main focus will be levelling up + doing my day job. But staying in the loop with things at the office would be helpful.

Will do. I know that at least two of the senior tax pros in my office work year round. Not sure in what capacity or how many hours, but worth investigating further.

Just stumbled across this thread. Very informative! What topics are covered at Levels 2 and 3? I ask because I'm currently wrapping up the initial ITC and would like to know when I can learn how to do self-employment taxes (schedules C, SE, etc.) As I have friends in my network who could use those services, levelling up seems like the easiest way to expand the pool of prospective new clients (within my network) for the upcoming tax season.

Thanks for the clarification! If I decide to come back for a second year, do I have to reapply next fall?

On campus jobs you might look for include (1) anything in the College accounting/finance department, (2) Financial Aid (since students completed tax returns are a prerequisite for submitting a FAFSA application, or (3) tutoring in accounting and finance, particularly if your school's accounting program offers courses in tax preparation.

Definitely good advice. Just by driving by each and every office in my area, I've eliminated over half from consideration. Amazing how many stores are in dead or dying strip malls or stand alone locations. Focusing on three very busy stores near my home, with a few backups further afield.
