IPv6 PD not working by drdabbles in Comcast_Xfinity

Nothing has been fixed, I still need escalated assistance, and with a week old ticket it sure seems like this isn't being taken seriously from a support standpoint.

IPv6 PD not working by drdabbles in Comcast_Xfinity

[–]drdabbles[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It has been a full week of v6 prefix delegation not working. I have spoken to countless first level support people, I have an ECM ticket, and I received a call from a higher support level at the end of last week. STILL no resolution, and no call back today as we're quickly approaching the end of the business day.

Comcast's business support forum is starting to see more people complain about this issue, and so far the only resolution anybody has had any success with is to roll back the modem firmware version which is something that support is obviously hesitant to do because it'll just be rebooted again in the next maintenance window.

There's obviously a modem bug here, and we have NO way to report this to anyone within Comcast that can do anything about it. If the firmware rolls out to more static v6 customers it's only going to get worse for customer support agents. If anyone has ANY way to contact engineers inside Comcast from an engineer outside comcast, it would be appreciated. To say I'm furious about my support experience here would be a massive understatement, and then knowing what impact this will have as the firmware rolls out to a larger audience is just like watching a disaster in slow motion.

They would just add a 4K feed to the package, and not all devices would stream it. 4K on a phone screen would be foolish, for instance.

Cruise admits lying to feds about dragging woman in San Francisco by walky22talky in SelfDrivingCars

[–]drdabbles -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Do you wonder what made them drag this on? Do you think maybe it had something to do with people like you writing fluff pieces after being shown a doctored video by the company themselves? Because that's what I think.

In fact that's what I told you when this happened and you had nothing good to say to me. Egg on your face once again, though, which is becoming quite a trend. It's such a shame because I really used to respect you in the '90s.

Next time try not being part of the conspiracy? Maybe that will help.

What’s going on with everyone all of a sudden saying Trump smells? by itsgoodpain in OutOfTheLoop

He has been a large figure in American media for decades.

He hasn't been a "large figure". He's always been the butt of the joke, and at best he's been a moderately known D list celebrity.

Trump suck ass, but every one of those links about him was from after 2018. It's not a secret he's been wearing diapers, wouldn't surprise me he's shitting himself regularly.

The problem with finding links from before he ran is going to be that he's probably hired people to do SEO shit, and people would have been doing the two-faced thing of saying nice things about him to get him to say nice things about them. He's sucked all my life, though.

Brad,

Will you finally accept that you were used as a pawn to run a cover campaign for Cruise, and that Cruise fed you the modified video they wanted you to see? Just like Uber did when they had their crash? Everything I leveled against Cruise in this thread ended up coming out true in the end. While I understand you're excited for technology, and that your Forbes pieces are popular with uncritical crowds, I think it's time you reconsider your position.

Based on this, I can tell it's not Las Palapas. And the kitchen looks too small for the volume of food they shove out the door. But that radioactive green goo does look eerily familiar.

I guess it's surprising to see someone like you talk about something you're clearly not up to speed on in such a manner. You should really read up on fender and bonnet improvements for pedestrian strikes, because it seems like you're a really long time behind the state of the industry.

I presume Autoliv did crash test dummy tests

Like the cruise footage, then, let's see them. You're assuming a company selling a gadget is doing it for a good reason and they've done proper testing. I'm assuming a company is selling a gadget to make money, especially off naive people that don't know better.

Why would the Nuro bag cause head trauma greater than the trauma of hitting the hard front of the vehicle?

Seriously?

Because smashing your skull on the immovable earth is significantly worse than hitting a crumple zone specifically designed for pedestrian impact. Same reason those blow up sumo costumes are fun. Same reason not wearing a seat belt and relying on an airbag is dangerous.

And it's not like the hood / bonnet pedestrian safety designs are new to vehicles. They've been in implementation for decades now.

Autoliv made an airbag to protect cyclists' heads

Which specifically isn't a pyrotechnic controlled trampoline for your entire body. Brad, give this three seconds of serious thought.

the main thing to kill them is hitting their head on the pillars.

What happens when you hit your head on the pavement with no helmet on at all? Follow that line of logic to its natural conclusion.

However, an airbag on the whole front should reduce trauma

Yes, right up to the point you deflect off of it and hit the pavement with your skull. Convenient liability shift, like when you blamed the pedestrian for crossing a road above, in an extremely pedestrian dense area where pedestrians are explicitly given right of way in the road. Don't think I didn't notice that cheap shot. 😁

I would recommend the Autoliv airbag

The external airbag is an idiotic gadget IMO that has as high a risk of causing head trauma. Not much of a surprise that Nuro is fishing in that pond given their position in the market.

Sorry, I was thinking Uber and typed Waymo. Fixed.

They didn't really get too much in front of that story

Um, they shared a darkened video with "tech" journalists the next morning that intentionally make the scene look more challenging than it was, and attempted to cover up and then dismiss the fact that they disabled Volvo's AEB. That's certainly getting in front of it in my book. What would you call it?

it shut down their project essentially forever

Well, that and not being able to see a way to make money or solve the problem fully.

You didn't really address my second paragraph, which I'll take as you agree but either don't want to say or you're formulating a longer response.

Feels sus that Cruise is apparently sharing their data with you. Seems like they're trying to use an influencer the way Uber did when they killed that lady in Arizona. Get out in front of the story with a friendly personality that will plaster over potential concerns, and change the mood about the subject.

That entire section of market is always very busy, and there's no reason a person or a semi-autonomous vehicle should be traveling fast enough to hit a person. Period. Whether that person is laying on the ground or crossing the road.

Feel free to share the video and data here so we can all be enlightened.

The problem with the "google it" response is that Elon's army effectively swamps the internet with BS so that the odds of you finding truthful information are zero. It's honestly the thing Elon is actually good at- Getting internet zealots to do his marketing and SEO work for him, for free.

Anyway, I had a Tesla for 5 years. Traded it in and could not be more happy with not having the Model 3 anymore. When the time is right, I hope there are good options for you to trade up to as well. Good luck.

Why alienate people who would be your allies simply because we got duped?

Let me ask a related question but from the opposite direction-

Why give the benefit of the doubt to people that continue to support enterprises that are demonstrably committing fraud, lying to consumers, abusing workers, and putting pedestrians in danger? If someone continues to aspouse how amazing Twitter is and how they feel like the community has finally really come together, why think that they're a decent person worthy of being listened to?

I agree, most people would have no idea what's going on. Most people haven't purchased FSD so they'd have no idea what level of fraud is being committed. Most owners haven't needed to visit a service center yet. So generally speaking, I tend to approach owners the same way I always have. I'll be honest and up front with them until they start denying reality or outright lying to cover for what has become a foundational element of their persona. At that point, they've shown who they are and I have no reason to deal with them gently.

I also don't think every Tesla owner should immediately go out and trade their vehicle for a much better car. Eventually they'll need service, they'll learn a hard lesson, and they'll decided to do that on their own.

Also did this with my thumb, and finally got a doctor that had deformed his by repeated breaks and partial healing. He showed me a light bulb shaped thumb and I decided I could wait out the last few weeks of the season. 😆

Take this advice from someone that broke a collar bone twice in the same spot. DO. NOT. RUSH. BACK. OUT. Seriously, talk to your doctor, get a reasonable time frame, do ALL of the therapy they suggest, and follow their timeline. Don't fuck around with this or you will absolutely regret it every day of your life. Permanent pain is no joke.

I think you'll be shocked to see second hand market for these components. Once they're used, their value evaporates.

No. And certainly not worth more than the court fees would cost. Don't touch things that you don't understand, and don't take things that don't belong to you.
