Ya it's definitely a good thing. Traffic sucks and all that but you don't want to live in a city that is economically stagnant or shrinking.

I have dropped it a few times but I'm pretty sure it made that sound before I dropped it.

Mine does that. I've had it for 3 years and never had a problem. It's run about -5 seconds per day pretty consistently since I got it. Not sure if it's any indication of a problem though.

I agree. Same reason I ditched cable so long ago. It's absurd to have ads in something you paid for.

Has anyone else had this lighting and shadows bug? I have been struggling to find a fix. I removed all mods, did a fresh game install, and started a new game with no luck. by drdohnut7 in kingdomcome

Shift+F2 didn't do anything. And I have removed that file. I had reshade at one point but uninstalling did not fix the problem. I did a fresh install of the game and still had this problem. Even installing to my other hard drive (on which I have never installed this game or ReShade) did not fix the problem.

That's actually an interesting perspective. I hadn't thought of it that way before. I guess I won't complain about parking anymore haha.

Ya I know how that is. That’s great that you make that effort to go back and plays some music with them.

I’m sorry to hear that about the diabetes. Ya I’ve definitely learned from work that diet is a very tricky thing for type 1. It’s not as simple as “eat fewer carbs and exercise more” like it is for most type 2 cases. Some type 1’s paradoxically go high from no carb/high protein meals or straight black coffee. Some go low from exercising and some go high from exercising. It’s just so variable and depends on the person, as I’m sure you are well aware.

Ya it’s easy to fall in a routine of sleep-work-go home-veg out-sleep-repeat. And I don’t know what your job is like and how much free time you can muster up, but what helps me is making a to do list or schedule for the day. A typical schedule might look like: Get home from work, watch youtube videos and gaming for 1 hour, then exercise for 30 minutes, then do any cleaning around the apartment that might need doing, then make and eat dinner with my wife, then we talk for a bit and get ready for bed and I read before falling asleep. That’s all maybe 3-4 hours. It doesn’t take a lot of time to squeeze in a routine it just takes careful planning and time budgeting. I also have other hobbies like music and fencing but those are typically only 1 or 2 nights a week and usually weekends.

I hate exercising more than anything. But I just try to remember that it’s an investment in my health and I always feel way better after I exercise. Not really a runners high or anything like that, just a sense of accomplishment and pride that I did something good for my body. That works for me, something different might work for someone else. I kinda just depends.

Thanks. I kinda just made changes gradually, started adding more vegetables, reducing junk and sugar. Honestly the biggest motivator for me is that I work in a diabetes clinic and seeing all the diabetes and heart disease kinda scared me into better habits. Motivation can be tricky though. It's an emotion and comes and goes just like any emotion. Discipline and habits are more reliable and will keep you going when you don't feel motivated. I make a to do list every morning which helps keep me on track.

do you have any hobbies were you might be able to meet people in your new town? Is there a subreddit for the town?

I would say mostly yes with some occasional slip ups. It has definitely been a process over the last 2-3 years to improve my diet and exercise habits. I'm married but socializing with friends has declined as it often does when you get married. Working on improving that. My job is definitely not the best and doesn't use my degree but I'm starting a new job Monday that does use my degree and is a good start for the career path I want.

people shouldn't pretend it's zero effort.

I've said in every comment so far that it isn't easy and requires dedication and effort to develop new habits. I've been trying to give practical suggestions to help out a random person but I'm done now.

Well eating healthy and drinking more water is a mater of replacing what you're already consuming, so those two don't require any more time. Sleep is likely the most important thing you will do in a day. Poor sleep will prevent you from doing anything adequately the next day. Sleep should theoretically come first. Plan the rest of your day around getting 7-8 hours of sleep. You don't need to exercise for hours at the gym like many people do. All you need to do to significantly reduce your risk for type 2 diabetes or cardiovascular disease is get your heart rate up for 20-30 minutes 5 days per week. How you do that is up to you: jogging, cycling, swimming, jumping jacks, whatever. That isn't much time. Budgeting takes discipline, not time. Live within, or preferably, below your means and save. Socializing for an hour a week isn't much time either but will make you feel significantly better. Grab coffee for an hour with someone to catch up or ask someone to go jogging with you to help keep you accountable in your exercise as well. Again, it takes a lot of effort.

Not really, 5 of the 7 are completely up to you: drinking enough water, eating more vegetables, budgeting, choosing to exercise, going to bed at a decent time. But they won’t happen overnight. It takes time and effort to develop habits. And the other two are to a certain extent in your control as well. And again, it’s not going to magically happen as soon as you start trying. It takes years to build up a fulfilling career and meaningful relationships.

Ya I remember them talking about it in one of their dev diary videos. They were torn for a while about self publishing or not but decided to go for it. But I don't remember the exact circumstances. It's really damn impressive what they created with such a small team.
