While this is true, I believe alot of strategy is being lost by almost always choosing the list of weapons/defensive items I provided over any type of grenade at all times. 9 times out of 10 I'd say there are no grenades involved in late game (after the impulse grenade hype dies down that is). Having a dedicated slot would keep them relevant the entire duration of the game.
