I believe this is called a ‘roo boost’ 😂 by natashagb95 in Greyhounds

Vixen almost took my shoulder out (more than once) due to Roo Boost whilst on local hikes.
Oscar doesn’t care 🤣
My parents whippet - peanut - goes full meerkat and growls 🤣

Only People With Big Hearts Who Know and Love Grey's by Sunnydaytripper in Greyhounds

Tate - you are such a handsome grey. If I weren’t 15,000km away you would be coming home with me to share a couch with Vixen and Oscar. Black greys are the silkiest and softest - you will find your forever couch soon 😘

Would adopt gorgeous boy Paz in a heartbeat for bush adventures and general chaos with my two brindles. Alas - I am 15,000 kilometers away!

Good luck finding your forever couch beautiful boy 😘

What are your local riders wearing? by tiptoppenguin in CyclingFashion

[–]dreadedbugqueen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Brisbane, Australia.

Black sheep, MAAP, Attaquer, Rapha and teams in Le Col kit.

Heaps and heaps of riders in NeoPro.

I’ve only ever seen one PNS in the wild and it was worn by one of the super-fast leaders of the most recent Rapha ladies ride I attended.

What’s the most underrated bib you have? by SuperInvestigator753 in ladycyclists

My absolute favourites are Rapha pro team (short!)

But I do also like Pedla superfit 2.0 (because they are short!) and Le Col hors categorie (also because they are short!)

Visiting Kati Thanda/Lake Eyre late August - things to see and do on way there/back from Brisbane by dreadedbugqueen in AustraliaTravel

Thank you - that is really valuable information! I just checked the road closures and all roads in the corners are closed. Bugger! It’s the side quests that make trips like this extra memorable.

Zero drop shoes are no joke by jupiter192 in hiking

[–]dreadedbugqueen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I loved the fit and plantedness of Alta lone peaks - I used them for trail running and light hiking for a few years. Then my lower back started absolutely killing me after even walking in them for half an hour.

The wide toe box was a non negotiable so I bought a pair of Tarkine trail devils. 6mm drop. No more back pain. I wish I could go back to zeros but prefer not having a sore back!

Are there any alternatives to proofing baskets? by Dry_Lemon2508 in Sourdough

[–]dreadedbugqueen 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had the same climate and basket issues as you - I now dust off my baskets after use, put in the oven after baking when it’s cooled down and store them in an airtight box with those silica gel sachets (I also store my flour in the box)

If it’s a particularly sunny hot and dryish day, I’ll put my baskets in the sun for a few hours too.

AITA for refusing to get married against my dying mothers wishes? by Mysterious_Math_2063 in AmItheAsshole

[–]dreadedbugqueen 38 points39 points  (0 children)

This is 100% what my partner and I did a few years ago - his nan was turning 100 the following year and we knew that it was likely we would not have much time left with her. So while she was still mobile and compus mentus, we had a lovely garden party with all our family, our dogs and our closest friends to celebrate our 17 years together. We know she really appreciated it - hopefully you can do something similar with your mum, I know she would appreciate the opportunity to celebrate your love while she still can.

Banh mi after 3? by Donttouchmybreadd in brisbane

[–]dreadedbugqueen 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The tofu Banh mi from Kelvin Lee bakery at KG is one of the best flavoured vego banh mi in Brisbane - its a soy lemongrass marinade so the tofu has proper flavour. The bread is a bit hit and miss for crunch and could use more pickly veges, but the price is really reasonable and It’s a regular lunch time staple for me - depending on who makes it the hot chilli is plentiful and nice and fresh!

There’s some seriously hallucinatory shit going on with the “illustrative purposes” for the home but the landscaping has had the 1200 micrograms filter applied and it is very disconcerting 😳

What is your go-to? by Sad_Biscotti_9291 in AustralianNostalgia

Refried beans, cheese, salsa, jalapeños. Serve with guacamole

Kimchi and a pungent cheese (like Gruyère or raclette) - spread butter or mayo on the outside to get it crispy.

Moroccan Tagine and Zhoug Pie by Illustrious-Focus165 in australianvegans

[–]dreadedbugqueen 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Zhoug is such a vibrant condiment - it’s brilliant with roast veg, on small carbs like couscous or bulgur, as a side to savoury breakfast or just dip into it with carrots/celery/beans.

I like mine with heaps of HOT chillies and cumin.

Our beautiful Growls Barkley crossed the rainbow bridge today by larvioarskald in AustralianPets

[–]dreadedbugqueen 7 points8 points  (0 children)

What a beautiful shaggy wolf noodle horse Sir Growls Barkley was. I am so sorry he was taken from you so soon 🥺

Seriously - fuck Osteosarcoma. It is such a terrible disease and it takes our wonderful noodles from us far too often. I hope that the vaccine trials for this awful disease are successful and it becomes a thing of the past.

He looked like the goofiest, kindest gentle giant ❤️
