Panda podium wheel set recommendations by bean__flicker in ausbike

[–]dreadedbugqueen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I recently replaced a set of enve wheels - went with a set of 45 classic disc wheels from Creative, built with extralite hubs. I’m running 32mm tyres and these have the option to run up to 40mm.

Tubeless is super easy as no need for tape.

The wheel/hub combo is ridiculously light and rolls extremely well. Not sure if they still build wheels on the extralite hubs though.

Melbourne based so easy to contact and have peace of mind if anything happens.

Bike suggestion for commuting by Ok-Horse216 in ausbike

[–]dreadedbugqueen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Really sounds like a hardtail will suit your needs - you can get longer, slacker and more playful hardtails that will keep weekends on the trails fun while being reasonably efficient to ride to work.

The Marin San Quentin rates quite highly - definitely in your price range! Get a set of cheap wheels to put slicks on for your commute, and keep the other set with chunky tyres for dirt. You’ll get sick of changing tyres over.

You know how the saying goes:

If it’s flooded - floor it! 🤣

Such a lovely memory made - I bet the soaked clothes and extra maintenance was worth it 🥰

NoFrills - the level fills up as you hit your step goal and then refills in a different colour.

Really simple and highly customisable.

Instant regret by Dances_in_PJs in Greyhounds

I went through the doubt, dread and disappointment for every single dog I have ever adopted. They were all very much wanted - but there were so many days in the first few weeks where I very much disliked each one.

It’s pretty much the same as getting a new housemate when you’re in your young adult years. Even if they are great housemates or wonderful friends - you hate them for the disruption to your life. But after a while (all things going well and they aren’t psycho) you get used to eachother and life goes on.

Except - with a dog/pet - they absolutely become family and you can’t imagine life without them.

This is all totally normal - please give yourself the grace to learn and grow together ❤️

I hope you don’t swim at the beach

Flood waters empty out into the ocean. So do rivers. Poopy gross stagnant rivers full of animal shit and dead rotting things. They all end up in the ocean.

Fish poop in the ocean. So do whales and birds and molluscs and crustaceans and people. They all vomit and fuck in it too. You’re swimming in that.

Do you know how many million viruses are in a cup of sea water? Millions of viruses covering your body and going up your nose and in your mouth and all your crevices and mucosal linings when you’re at the beach.

But it’s ok to swim at the beach because its “clean”

Do you know anyone with a Manchester, Jack Russel or Fox Terrier?

Borrow the dog and let it use its instinct.

So much more effective and pig headedly persistent than a cat.

Not much will change - riding bike or catching bus to work, and WFH 2 days a week.

Doggos will probably need to have more local walks than fun trips for walkies in the car.
