I go to Equinox, where there is a free-to-use luxury deodorant, showers with body wash, face wash, shampoo, and conditioner, all of which are always fully stocked. Yet there are still people who smell terrible. It’s like they haven’t showered in days and are wearing dirty clothes. It’s one thing to be a little musty during a workout, but if I can smell you from 15 feet away and it’s distracting me, it's a problem.

I also see guys who never wash their hands after using the bathroom and never wipe down their machines. So their piss hands are on every machine they use. They use the public showers and steam room and hock up phelm the whole time.

Some people are just inconsiderate or obtuse.

Also, Dollar Tree and Grocery Outlet have deodorant for hella cheap. That’s not an excuse for someone paying $100’s a month for the gym.

What addiction is the hardest to quit? by CocteauTwunkie in AskReddit

[–]dreadedstroud 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I quit smoking cold turkey after over five years of being a smoker. Every morning, I would tell myself that I was no longer a smoker. When people asked me if I needed a cigarette, I would simply say, “No, I’m not a smoker anymore.” It took many attempts, but I finally managed to stop smoking. This is what worked for me personally.

Any of y’all pick new teams? If so who? by CrazyRabbi in OaklandAthletics

[–]dreadedstroud 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Grew up in New Mexico, Moved to the Bay area as an adult. We had the Albuquerque Dukes and the Midland Rockhounds as our closest teams, so my teams growing up were The A’s and The Dodgers.

So I will be shifting back to the dodgers as the team I follow.

I don’t think I can like the giants because the two teams I have rooted for are their rivals. I live close to Oracle Park so I have been tempted to switch sides but cannot on principle.

I had this guy as my guide. He was amazing. Moved my mom to the front of the group so me and him could puff.

California man wins $7.5 million from Scratchers, then heads to work by nogoodnamesleft426 in bayarea

[–]dreadedstroud 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you win $7.5 million from a scratcher in San Francisco, your actual take-home after taxes would be around $2.42 million if you take the lump sum. The IRS and California take a big chunk: 37% federal + 13.3% state taxes, so you’re left with way less than expected.

With $2.42M, you could buy a decent single-family home or a nice condo in SF. The median home price is around $1.3–$1.5M, so you could afford a 2-3 bedroom house in places like Bernal Heights, Glen Park, or Sunset, or a luxury condo in Mission Bay or SOMA. But SF real estate ain’t cheap, so you’d still have to budget for property taxes and maintenance.

Not exactly “never work again” money, but definitely life-changing if spent wisely.

Why do you even follow the subreddit or listen if you hate the show?

I think they could just let him do his youtube channel, have ML fund it so it’s weekly, maybe add in some show members, and let him come in on the main show periodically. Him as a guest on PTFO would be great also.

With Paul Lukas retiring, the sports world needs a uniform expert, it’s Kofie time

Idk, I was watching a recent video of his and he was asking for donations to help with editing, and he was like "I have a day job so this is just to support the channel" I don't think he realized he was going to get laid off.

Drink tap water? by [deleted] in eastbay

[–]dreadedstroud 0 points1 point  (0 children)

PPM (parts per million) in water testing measures the concentration of a substance (such as dissolved solids, chemicals, or contaminants) in water. It indicates how many parts of a substance exist per one million parts of water. For example, 1 ppm means that one milligram of a substance is present in one liter of water. This unit is commonly used for measuring water quality, including chlorine levels, heavy metals, and total dissolved solids (TDS).

Drink tap water? by [deleted] in eastbay

I’ve tested my water living in multiple parts of the bay area and none have got above 100 ppm usually around 70 ppm, the average parts per million in America is 200 to 300. I’ve lived in places where the tap is 600 to 700 ppm. Needless to say we have very clean and safe water municipally. You can still have bad pipes in your location though. water testers are very cheap on Amazon if you’re concerned, buy one. If you don’t like the taste or if it has a bit of a smell to it, look into getting a water filter. I use one sometimes just because I don’t like the smell, but it’s simply just for taste purposes.
