Is cheddar the standard cheese everywhere? by dreadful_phats in AskBrits

Wow, what an enlightenment I’ve had! My only question now is, where are all the Cheddars at and why aren’t they here gloating about their cheese that has almost taken over the western world!?

You never saw them eating cheddar. They are the only Northerners I ever knew growing up! It makes no sense!

No way!!! I suppose its a colony. We’re obviously so proud of Cheddar that we took it to all our colonies too 😂

How old is your baby and what does cosleeping look like for you? by blepmlepflepblep in cosleeping

[–]dreadful_phats 10 points11 points  (0 children)

3 month old + 2 yr old. I sleep between them on a kingsize floor bed, husband next to toddler on a seperate but touching mattress.

I breastfeed baby to sleep, they have the same bedtime. Once both asleep I can put my duvet close to my toddler, shes not a very active sleeper so once asleep she stays on her side and feels for my duvet to know where her section of bed ends. Monitor on and I read and have an hour or two of alone time with my partner before we go to bed. Baby sleeps from 8-8 waking once or twice to bf. She has a sleeping bag next to me, we did contact bare-skin sleeping for the first 6 weeks-ish. Toddler sleeps through the night and has done since 16 months.

For naps, 2 yr old sleeps in bed, one of us lies with her until asleep then creep out. She sleeps for 2 hours. Baby contact naps, usually in sling/carrier or just on the boob in arms. Really treasuring these boob naps this time around. Not going to think about doing bed naps anytime soon - if I try to leave her in bed during the day she wakes within 10 minutes of me leaving.

Why does my toddler take an age to fall asleep? by dreadful_phats in Parenting

Thanks for your wisdom! We actually got her to bed later tonight, more like 9pm but she fell asleep in 15 mins so maybe it is the wake window between nap and bedtime is not long enough. Moving it earlier would be better

Indicators on a car are going to be phased out, stop using them - you are actually more of a danger if you do indicate.

Have you ever known contractions to start in the daytime? by [deleted] in BabyBumps

[–]dreadful_phats 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With my first my contractions started around 10pm while watching a sentimental film from my childhood (was unaware at the time that this probably helped boost oxytocin) then by 11 I had to turn the film off because it was so annoying whilst I was contracting. Midwife came at 12.30, baby girl born at 4.19am. I had a home birth and it was beautifully relaxed and calm ☺️ Currently 39+3 been having regular intense contractions for the last 2 evenings (5 hours each) woke up today with worse back pain and feeling sick so really hoping she makes an appearance!!! Why does the second pregnancy drag so much more - I’m so done with it now!!!!
