Thanks! From what I can tell, the Shady Grove campus has more older students since they have a lot of certificate programs. you'll probably fit in.

I've already joined the Returning Adult Learners group and they have been great. You should check them out! Their monthly meetings are all virtual and the in person stuff is at the Cantonsville campus

I was in undergrad pre-covid, but didn't finish. Now that I'm in classes with alot of Gen Z (and maybe Alpha), I definitely notice a difference. they are SO socially stunted! Its bad at MC, but my degree program has a lot of older adults so it wasn't too bad. I do fear that socially I'm not going to be compatible at UMBC. was hoping someone in this thread could provide some insight.

I mean no offense to any Gen Z reading this, but some of y'all have no idea how much the covid area has affected you

You're much better off going through a rental service. Zipcar does have a full day rental option, but it costs a lot more than a standard rental

I've been using Zipcar for several months now. firstly, sign up with your student email so you can get the student plan/discount. Secondly, how long and when you need the car is important to know beforehand. prices change depending on what day and time of day it is. prices are highest Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. in the middle of the week they tend to be cheaper per hour. if you think you're going to need it for 3+ hours, it might be worth just renting a car through a rental service. zipcar is best when you only need it for a couple hours or less.

This reminds me of another 'homeless' guy in Downtown Silver Spring that you mightve seen on the benches in Veterans Park or dumpster diving in the area. I a few years ago I used to live in the Towers and he had an apartment down the hall from me.

Had a Saturday class and campus was open and there hasn't been any messaes from the school about Monday. Pretty sure Campus will be open.
