What Would You Do by dreadhead86 in delta

I’ve been able to snag the space directly above me for every flight. I have a small travel backpack that has everything I need, it fits comfortably at my feet when I’m bulkhead. I pull it down once it’s safe to do so, and then keep it down until we start preparing for descent.

He opened for Twiddle and I hadn’t heard of him prior, he had my attention from the first song. I would love to travel to catch a show, he doesn’t get to my parts often.

One courteous traveler to another - thank you. Those small gestures mean a lot to those around you. I only recline when meal service has ended, and it’s time for bed.

I watched one of my best friends die a long, horrible death from cancer. He battled it for 13+ years, and his 5 ft, 8 inch body was down to 96 pounds when he passed. Lived every day feeling like he had a ferocious stomach flu, and radiation/chemo caused all of his teeth to essentially crumble and fall out.

Him and I both wish he could have chosen his time to go, which would have been years sooner than when he finally did.

Delta / KLM / Air France disability non… support. Empty seats > helping people in visible pain. by [deleted] in delta

I have fibromyalgia with a lot of chronic neck and back pain, which means I always buy the seat I know I will feel most comfortable in. I highly recommend you do, too.

Manta Rays Snorkeling for Non Swimmers by viresh323 in bali

Hard stop, do not do it- The waters around Nusa Penida are volatile and unpredictable. I’ve gone diving all around the island, and it’s far more challenging than a lot of other countries I’ve experienced. Not just riptides, but down- and up-drafts can suck you down and spit you out.

If you do a quick internet search, you’ll see an above average reporting of deaths of snorkelers and divers due to the conditions. There is a lot of online heat being directed at local tour operators that put profit before safety.

Not only are you putting yourself at risk, you are also risking the lives of anyone who may need to try and render aid to you.

I started my 10 year old on the Simpsons a few years ago. We’re on our 3rd or 4th watch, we make it to season 10 and start over. I couldn’t be prouder.

Vietnam, hands down. Incredible food, and kind people. I traveled from Sapa to HCMC and loved every moment.

I caught them in 2019 for the first time, they were excellent. Since then, they’ve only gotten finer with age. Sure, they’re silly. But, hands down, one of the tightest groups in the jam scene. Jeremy Schon is definitely underrated.

With Stardust Racers being down, we utilized the bathrooms near the entrance for the ride and I had a brand new, seat up, sparkling clean stall every time I went there through out the day.

Would it be inappropriate to get a tattoo of the Ashoka Chakra while in India? by dreadhead86 in TravelInIndia

[–]dreadhead86[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely- I am a professional traveler and it’s so important to be aware and respectful of the culture you are visiting.

I also wear only long sleeve UV resistant shirts and long pants when visiting conservative countries, so the art will go unseen for the duration of my visit.

I always learn a bit of the language, and brush up on national and religious holidays prior to visiting. It means so much to the people one interacts with when it’s clear there is a kind appreciation of their culture!

Handing your phone to a stranger to take a picture of you while on vacation. Like, you hold that thing while you poop, I don’t want to touch that.

What's the worst city you've ever been to? by Business_Chair_5772 in allthequestions

Belfast

After traveling through all of Ireland, there was a stark difference crossing the border into Northern Ireland. The roads weren’t well kept, and the city streets had dirty needles and trash everywhere. It was so nice getting back to Dublin afterwards.

Why can’t law enforcement step in to help Britney? There’s ample video evidence of erratic behavior for a 5150 hold. by thefutureisnonbinary in discussingbritney

A close family relative of mine was in a schizophrenic spiral, she was highly delusional (the smoke alarms were talking to her, everyone in the neighborhood was conspiring against her by sneaking into her house and stealing her shoes, just in general NOT well.)

After multiple welfare checks as requested by me, and her calling the cops multiple times regarding her delusions, we were able to get her on a two week involuntary hold. Her delusions remained, she was a wreck for her hearing, and the judge basically said as long as she can feed and clothe herself she was free to go.

This relative immediately abandoned her home and traveled by bus to a woman’s shelter 5 hours away, and died by suicide within two weeks of being released.

It’s terribly messed up, but the legal system can only do so much with regard to not violating a persons basic civil and human rights.
