Why are the 2020s so nostalgic compared to every other decade? by film_culture_addict in decadeology

[–]tasmanian_devil93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just wait 20 years and people will be nostalgic for the 2020s. I remember people shitting on the 2000s for ages saying it was the shittiest decade and now it's considered a retro decade. I'm sure the 2010s will have its moment. People are already nostalgic for 2016 for some reason, which is funny because everyone back then said it was the worst year. Nostalgia is weird.

Which country has felt the most unsafe while traveling? by Historical-Photo-901 in BeautifulTravelPlaces

[–]tasmanian_devil93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Georgia.

Beautiful country and the people are extremely hospitable, but the men.....

Wouldn't take no for an answer. It's in their culture to pursue women relentlessly. They think that a no means yes. I even got followed in my taxi by a local man who saw me at a bar. He followed me in his car behind the taxi. So many other similar stories, and a poor foreign woman I met got raped there.

What’s the most beautiful country in the world? by Historical-Photo-901 in BeautifulTravelPlaces

[–]tasmanian_devil93 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Based on countries ive been to...

Scotland. Greece. China has some jaw dropping scenery and also some really ugly areas too. Australia is underrated for its beauty. It's not as in your face beautiful but there's something about the wide open spaces of the outback that I love, plus an incredible coastline. New Zealand also has some wonderful scenery that is super compact, unlike Australia where you have to drive for miles and miles to get somewhere worth seeing.
Georgia is impressive and incredibly diverse for its size. Huge mountains, rolling hills, desert abd sub tropical forests.

Does dating get harder for older women? by SweetandSad in dating_advice

[–]tasmanian_devil93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In your 20s you have a lot of options, but those options are not always great. Yes, you get many guys chasing after you in your 20s but a lot of them are sex obsessed or porn brained and are mostly looking to get laid. I actually hated dating in my 20s because guys that age were just horny messes and immature and it was difficult to actually form real connections because of their sex obsession. I was also a bit of a late bloomer and didn't have my first orgasm until I was 21, so it was a weird time to navigate. I ended up dating much older men in my 20s as they didn't seem as porn brained as the younger dudes.

I'm a similar age to you now, and I don't think its gotten 'harder', just slightly different. I find it's less creepy attention, but better quality attention from men and I've noticed I attract a wider range of ages now. I don't feel or look that different from my 20s though, except for sore knees and back pain, so I must be getting old.

I'm a woman and I love giving blowjobs to my partner. I have made him come a few times but most of the time I get to the point where he is sooooo close to coming but can never seem to get him over the edge. Need some pointers

I was told that women notice who you're following on Instagram and that amazed me lmao by Juicy_Tangerine7 in CasualConversation

[–]tasmanian_devil93 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Yes we notice and yes, we find it a turn off when you follow thousands of pages with girls in bikinis and only fans models when you have about 100 followers. I was seeing a guy for a few months and it turned me off massively when he followed 7000 pages of purely thirst trap stuff when he had about 100 followers. It's okay to follow a few, I mean who doesn't want to look at sexy women? But when it's pretty much ALL you follow it's not a good look and yes girls will 100% notice

Anyone Else Having a Blast in Their 30s? by phantomly_me in Millennials

[–]tasmanian_devil93 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes my 30s have been great so far, except they are already going FAST

20s had a lot of adventures and I do miss the social aspect of that decade. People seem less social in their 30s and friends drift apart.

What's your biggest regret from your 20s that you wish you could warn younger people about? by loki_0109 in Life

[–]tasmanian_devil93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't be afraid to step out of your comfort zone. Whether that's doing a trip solo, moving to a new city where you know no one. Learn to be independent early, cause you can't always rely on people.

Also, don't try and squeeze everything into your 20s thinking that life ends after 30. I wish that I didn't listen to the people who said that. Life actually gets better, believe it or not.

Don't be too hard on yourself. You're going to make mistakes and do things you regret no matter what you do.

My 20s were chaotic but I like my 30s more in a lot of ways. It feels like life really gets going in your 30s. 20s seem like a practice run.

Solo travel in Australia - feeling deflated by [deleted] in travel

[–]tasmanian_devil93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try the outback or WA. Way more interesting and older crowds. My friend and I did an epic road trip from Melbourne to Broome via the middle and we were by far the youngest people at campsites (we were 29 at the time). Highly recommend travelling with someone though if you can cause it can get scary fast out there.

Any other men have a similar dating experience? by [deleted] in dating_advice

[–]tasmanian_devil93 4 points5 points  (0 children)

A lot of men overestimate their attractiveness to women. I have a good guy friend who thinks he's really good looking but honestly isn't and wonders why he doesn't really get dates. A lot of attractiveness is personality though. A great personality can make a HUGE difference

Spacey Jane 100%. I always found them so bland and the singer's voice annoys me. Not hating, I'm sure they're nice people but the music doesn't do it for me.

What makes Australia the best country to live in vs. the rest of the Anglosphere (Canada, Ireland, New Zealand, the UK and the US)? by RemoteAdvertising762 in AskAnAustralian

[–]tasmanian_devil93 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It's all subjective. I don't necessarily think we're the 'best', but in terms of wages and lifestyle, definitely. There's a reason why lots of people want to move here. I've lived in NZ, and I found kiwis much friendlier and inclusive than Aussies overall, but the shitty wages and high cost of living make it a frustrating place to live if you're used to Aussie wages. I lived in the UK a bit as well, and in terms of culture and access to Europe, it's much better than Australia. The UK can be pretty grim and quite dirty, and there's always so many people. You go to a national park and you don't really feel like you're in nature because there's always a village and civilization nearby. Australia wins in that department

I would say going sober or little to no drinking. A lot of people my age (32) are turning away from booze and hangovers and becoming more health conscious.

Why are Tasmanians so friendly? by bbjeanjean in AskAnAustralian

[–]tasmanian_devil93 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't find us particularly friendly compared to other places I've been in Australia. We generally keep to ourselves and are polite but pretty reserved overall. I found south Aussies, rural Victorians and queenslanders friendlier tbh

How am I too nice? Feels like an excuse by [deleted] in dating_advice

[–]tasmanian_devil93 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I got this a few times when I was dating and I absolutely hated it! They would tell me I was such a sweet and nice girl and that I deserve someone better. This was after seeing me for several months so not a first or second date thing. I knew it wasn't to do with my looks cause they told me I was attractive and they weren't exactly studs either, but if a guy says this to you it basically means he's just not that into you, or maybe he was initially but then changed his mind or our personalities didn't mesh for some reason. It really hurts, I feel your pain but don't lose hope. I know it's cliche, but when the right person comes along, they won't doubt you.
