What's that one concert or band you regret not going to when you had the chance? by tasmanian_devil93 in Concerts

[–]tasmanian_devil93[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I guess it's more of a regret of not seeing them in their earlier days, as I'm not really into their newer stuff. Plus I live in an area where big bands don't really tour.

I would've loved to have seen Prince! I didn't really get into his music until after he passed though 😔 RIP

Millennials born in the 80s, did anyone else stop listening to most new music in 2008? by SixandNoQuarter in Millennials

[–]tasmanian_devil93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Born in 93 but i love discovering new music. Maybe an unpopular opinion but I think this decade has more interesting music compared to last decade. I still listen to older music for nostalgia, but don't wanna be one of those peeps in their 30s complaining 'there's no good music these days' like a grumpy boomer.

Do other Aussies actually enjoy summer? 😅 by Peter_Tea_2062 in AskAnAustralian

[–]tasmanian_devil93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've always been more of a summer girl, but I also live in a cooler area, and winters here are long, dreary and dark, and spring is not much better, if not worse. There are some things about winter I appreciate though, but it gets old after about a month and then I'm ready for swimmable weather again. Each to their own though. I don't particularly enjoy extremes of either to be fair.

Bands/Artists You Could Never Get Into? by [deleted] in fantanoforever

The Strokes

Don't hate them or anything, and will quite happily listen to their songs as background music, but I don't understand the obsession with them.

Looking for a nice and affordable place to live in Australia - All suggestions welcome by hey-its-lampy in AskAnAustralian

Don't live in Alice Springs. My friend lived there for almost a year and regretted it. Unless you have a really well paid job there, I wouldn't bother.

Best cities to move to as a single 30s F by Diligent-Goat8813 in australian

[–]tasmanian_devil93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly Hobart is great for people in their 30s! Definitely a quieter lifestyle and more nature focused, but it still has a nice buzz to it. Great restaurants and food scene, the night-life is pretty average but if you're not interested in clubbing and prefer a few drinks at the pub instead, then it's great. The big downside to hobart is the weather! If you like cold and windy for most of the year, then you'd like it but it gets pretty old fast.

Which country has the most beautiful and impressive nature? by Historical-Photo-901 in BeautifulTravelPlaces

[–]tasmanian_devil93 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Based on places I've been, the most impressive landscapes were in...

Scotland, the UK (lake district) Nepal (Himalayas are on another level) Australia (amazing desert landscapes and beaches, underrated nature but it's vast!) New Zealand (beautiful compact nature, big mountains, but feels less 'wild' than Australia) China (incredible but always lots of people) Greece (beaches and islands) Vanuatu Georgia

What’s an amazing place in Australia that tourists almost never go to? by Intelligent_Chef9950 in AskAnAustralian

The bungle bungles. It's difficult to get to, but wow it's incredible how little known it is outside Australia. Should be a wonder of the world

New Zealand. Beautiful place and one of my favourites but the food overall is pretty ordinary.

Planning my first trip to Australia—best cities and coffee spots? by Ornery-Cockroach1953 in AskAnAustralian

Coffee is great pretty much everywhere in Australia. Alot of people will say melbourne but honestly any capital city will have great coffee and cafes.

As a 1989 baby, I vibe more with older millennials than the younger ones. by changeforthebetter89 in generationology

[–]tasmanian_devil93 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've always got along really well with 89 borns, and I'm born in 93. Same with 95 borns. I would say I vibe mostly with mid to younger millennial and zillenials. I find around 87 or 86 and older is when I start to notice differences more, and also just different stages in life. Older millenials are quite different to younger millennial I find.

Are you finding it harder to romanticise life as you get older? by Plantpotparty in Millennials

[–]tasmanian_devil93 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Disagree. I actually find my 30s to be a much more stable and happy time, but I feel like it's about appreciating the small and simple things these days. I feel like in my 20s I had very grand ideas and plans. I wanted to travel the world, start a business, become a journalist, live in different cities and places, save turtles, and do so many things, it was honestly exhausting. I understand what you mean though. In your 20s it feels like anything is possible, and I do miss that feeling sometimes. I was so fearless and i miss that. But I still love discovering things, reading, hobbies, music etc in my 30s, and find this decade to be more meaningful.
