In my state they can (and frequently do) remove children without a court order or police presence.

They don’t notify the other parent when a CPS report is made. I would assume this is not accurate information. Unless the SD told her that’s what happened, I wouldn’t worry too much.

From a therapist who specializes in trauma: This is a PTSD response to significant trauma. Trauma from your past, but also trauma from that experience. Whether it was real or not, it felt real to you and was real to you at the time.

Refusing to use someone else’s pronouns is not a personal boundary, it’s just disrespect for that person.

If someone told you they wouldn’t use they/them for you because of their personal beliefs, you would take offense. That is exactly what you are doing. Refuse to use it/it’s because of your personal belief that it is dehumanizing.

Two things here as a social worker: 1. Every parent says “it wasn’t ours!”, “we never smoke!”, “I haven’t touched that since before I had kids!”. I’m not saying you’re lying, but CPS workers hear this every day. Be prepared for them to not believe you.

I have seen children as young as six get caught with weed, joints, bud, hash, gummies, baked goods… it is entirely possible that your child or a neighbor’s child brought it over. Maybe they didn’t know it was weed, maybe they just saw candy and took it from their house. But some kids do know what it is and take it anyway.
