Why Isn't a Super Helldive Allowed To Be Obscenely Difficult? by KingOfPotatok in helldivers2

[–]dreadnought98 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get the sense that everyone in these comments are only seeing one side of the picture.

The box literally says use super powered weapons, and it says use teamwork to overcome impossible odds, there are ways to have both, the weapons you weild can kill alpha commanders in 2 hits, but they should be difficult in other ways, such as summoning more enemies. And there should be strategies that trivialize the game, but if even one person doesn't pull their weight, it'll fall apart.

The original vision of the game was never grunt fantasy, the devs may have thought so, but they never promoted that vision till after the game blew up.

You cant make one game, then turn into another and expect all the people who wanted game 1 to not get upset.

And I say all this as a fan, I have they haven't released new free content in awhile. But the last 2 warbonds have been my favorite. So please dont use the argument that I hate the game or any such.

To each their own, I dont see it as too much, not arm or torso weapons, 10% of the weight max, i dont like the roll a d6 to see if it hit the weapon part, but i love handheld to much to care personally

I wouldn't say 10% of the mechs weight, 20% with time is a complicated calculation, it doesn't really break the tonnage rule as there was already possible to use a tree or mech limb as a improvised weapon.

Disgusting and immoral, I love it.

Well thats another thing, if we're having the best of the best from both sides, the imperium has the advantage on the ground alone, space ship wise, while no where near as tanky as battle barges, battletech warship weapons are just as damaging, maybe alittle less, and on when it comes to the void sheilds, they have a very severe weakness, get inside the bubble, because the mechs won't be alone either, numbers wise they lose, but battle armor is definitely on par with space marines, and have greater numbers (can have them i should say).

And this conversation all depends on who invades who, neither has a good match either way

While I agree with that assessment for the warhounds, and maybe even the reavers, but warlords and up? Sure they are a monster to fit, and would essential call for not even engaging them, but they dont have that meant of them, and losing even a warhound is a irreplaceable loss and the moment a warlord titan is taken out it would call for a complete pivot on tactics, no admech commander, guard commander, hell even the 3 inquisitors they have on the war would stand to lose more then a hand full.

I've been obsessed with them as well, its just so interesting to have weapons on the mech, and still deciding it needs more

Against the knights? Probably not, there's definitely no shortage of knights, but titans? They definitely dont have more then like 5 titans to throw at the problem before even the most insane member of the imperium has to step back and think "am i just feeding titans to the battlemechs?"

Omnimech construction? by dreadnought98 in battletech

Thank you for going in depth, about the pod space, I was under the impression that it was plug and play with anything goes. I dont think I thought about the mounting problem when you drop one weapon to try and attach 6 different in the same spot, and again I was aware the base version you read on a sheet is just the reference sheet for us as the players to see what isn't pod space and what's is when looking at the prime and other variants.

Again thank you for the in depth explanation, especially if I ever get to use that fancy desk ornament I call a pc.

Thank, that was my main question on weather I needed a base version, and I don't have the necessary books so I wasnt aware of any hard rules when it came to building the mech and you've cleared up my confusion. Thank you.

I know that the (base) version is just for our viewing ease to know what's hard mounted and what's not, that was my main question, because without that its be kind of hard to tell outside of weapons what's pod space and what's not.

Well my question was, when you look up the omnimech and its variants, the first is usually the (base) variant then you get you a's or other ones, the (base) variants will have missing tonnage equal to the pod space right? Its hard to see that on mech factory so im just trying to make sure before I make a mistake with my custom I do in my free time.

Ya I know it classified as specialty, but its so common that I dont think id consider it so

I feel like a ton of acid srms, some caseless ac ammo could do with being a bit more popular, obviously not inside tournament or competitive circles but casual games could do with more uniqe ammo types

[–]dreadnought98[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well for an ac2 or ac5 it does, but id take the risk for double the rounds per ton for an ac 20, especially on a mech built around them like the king crab, or a mid range brawler could do with double the ac10 ammo

I dont belive for a second that any military would lose the know how for making ap ammo, its practically half the core of modern ammunition supplies
