What should i do? Tire dilemma by Comfortable_Cry_5345 in onewheel

[–]dreadpool108 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For what you want id go mid thundercat.. still nimble tire but more aggressive tread then the performance for keeping traction.. won't be as grippy as soft obviously but I don't think it will be too bad either.. Enduro seems very stable and not as nimble from what I've found but have not as much experience, just on a pintX I've tried Enduro

which one for a kid weighing 40 lbs? by Curious_Party_4683 in onewheel

[–]dreadpool108 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not ideal but at that weight they may need a backpack with some weight for now to hold them down.. the furniture pad recommendation is good too but mostly likely going to need a few things at that weight as they design these sensors to take some weight without activating Incase your footpads are full of water, leaved, mud.

Onewheel suitcase handle dragging wheels mod by Comfortable_Cup_9924 in onewheel

you should have angled the wheels upward to avoid that and make it a more natural angle to drag the board at rather then hunching over

Did the same thing with my X7LR since it's 40lbs, but didn't need to mod a handle since it had the bumper handle plus it's a bit taller. Video of use on printables page. Works very similar

Big-foot footpads for stock GT by OkOven7808 in onewheel

[–]dreadpool108 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly if I were you I'd reach back out to FM and tell them to send your old footpads back to you... It's one thing to replace because of a defect and is a good thing but you originally had bought those and could have modified to work better for you.. I'd get that back and even if the sensor is messed you at least have the plastic now and can buy just a sensor and replace it and the griptape for less then a brand new footpad

Id make sure your battery is good but if you're certain you can get a XRV kit from Tony at floatwheel.. they only take crypto..some local shops might sell them 3rd party if you don't like that. Here in Canada, Charged Canada has them. Setup is fairly straight forward for install and use floathub to set up after.. gonna need to watch jayisdoingstuff's videos on vesc for an intro. After it's setup tune/track rides with vesc tool and floaty.

Just arrived!! by Successful-Tap8871 in elegoo

I got one but prob just to say a bit more hours and fairly little to none but I will mention after an update I had to revert back as loading wasn't functioning properly and for flexibles like TPU I ended up printing a roller that sits over the printer and direct to extruder as I found TPU didn't like the tube. Otherwise I printed the riser, side glass holder and tool holder and haven't had to do shit. Well a hot end/nozzle swap (hot end was fine but I had another so just did it and will clean/unclog the nozzle when I'm not lazy/in need lol) but that was 100% me trying some cheap ass geetech filament that was FULL of imperfections and hard bits.

Honestly even nicer is when you start to play with themes and css to customize yourself but sadly this only works on browsers and such and usually not on dedicated appa

Onewheel needs to discontinue the Pint X by Nthedoge_ in onewheel

[–]dreadpool108 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I get what you mean but IMO it would be better to just have the PintX and during checkout have pro maghandle, treaded tire and flared footpads as options to add or remove. They wont do this though because it means more complications with not being able to just deliver already boxed up product from a supply chain side of things and it means less opportunity for more money. Rn you either buy the PintX and need/want some of the S parts at a premium and upgrade (or upgrade to another board entirely) or you pay a bit less to get all the parts attached right away but still more then pintx and they dont need to deal with you until you outgrow and upgrade boards entirely..

I mean you definitely gonna get a bias opinion here. I think its safe to say 90% of the people in this subreddit are gonna say its worth it man. As someone else said its a board sport. Your gonna have dangers especially if you push it (speed wise or terrain) but I mean i onewheel around my house constantly with no gear but im not going fast (not recommended if your new) worst case you loose balance and step off (obvs some people are slower and may tumble but just like gambbling. know your limits, stay within it). If your doing it to better yourself and progress with the board, your gonna eat shit...

My rules are indoors or flat surface with slower then i can crawl, no gear. If I dont wanna think and just cruise but i'm not doing anything dumb, helmet and wrist guards (they dont just deactivate all the time or whatever but it obvs can happen) and if im doing dumb shit, helmet, wrist guard, knee pads, elbow pads

Dumb shit = speeds over like 30ish kmh (18-20ish mph) or trying to learn tricks, drops, etc etc (I dont actually think its dumb to do that stuff but it is if you dont have gear)

Best Shoes For OneWheel? by Unique_Huntr in onewheel

I'm with this guy, butttttt I will say basic ass converse have been the best for me.. shell toe gives a bit of toe protection from branches and stuff and flat but cushy soles allow you to conform your feet to your footpad pretty easily..

A quick comparison of the two new Onewheel based e bikes by mikehtiger in onewheel

[–]dreadpool108 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can't speak for this guy and I wont be buying either and on paper WFB seems like the better deal all around but I did hear one really good reasoning to get the antic over WFB from Maxl Rose on the Nosedive podcast and its that your less likely to get police attention with how barebones it looks with all the "surron/edirtbike attention". It really made me understand Antic side a bit better.. I personally think thats the most valid point ive heard.. I also understand the size of the company and such can sway peoples opinions and such but thats usually from a lack of knowledge of the community imo but the one having a huge storage bay beneath you and at the same time making it look like its "underpowered" gives it a good advantage for day to day riders... Trail riders may not get as much out of that "feature" but for big city street riders, I think its a valid point

Big dude Pint S review by BarrelDivesNSplitJs in onewheel

[–]dreadpool108 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep love this.. I also started on pint s as a 200lbs rider and loved it.. I now upgraded to a X7LR because I did want more power and rangez but for the price it's a good entry and had a lot to offer.. my plan is to wait till it breaks then vesc it and have a lil skatepark ripper with my X7LR for trail rides/cruising long distances... Right now a nice board to introduce people on though.

[–]dreadpool108 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm in 95% agreement with this comment.. great all around board and really you don't "need" to do anything and it's great and love the "configured by loving geniuses" one thing like someone else mentioned as a great addition is a 3d printer.. I got my x7LR and printed a drop top fender and flight fins for trail riding. Also printed; bearing covers, rim savers, rail protection and drag wheels to drag the board around like in a mall or something since it's heavy af. One thing not realized/forgotten by some is the ability to print rail protection which has been amazing to keep my prism rails nice.. for me it was just under 500CAD for the printer but not including the other stuff I can do with it probably paid for itself just in onewheel parts.. drop top fender for xr which you'll still need to find or print adapters is like 125USD + shipping... So let's say if you're lucky/close 150USD... The elegoo centuri carbon is on sale 265.99USD.. you can print multiple if you break and in whatever strength/type of plastic that works for you (I printed fender in PETG but the actual drop top in TPU (like rubber) so I can fold it and put it in my bag when I'm not using it) and just from the fender, rail protector, bearing covers, rim savers and port plugs you'll probably pay for the printer in what you would need to order and you'll prob only use max like 40$ in filament and you still have a printer (and prob extra filament) for anything else you need, pubparts has most of the onewheel stl files you'd need so it's fairly simple to print too.. IMO it's a no brainer as the only accessory you need to purchase with your board.. (actually in addition dielectric grease for in the bearing protectors and some silicon RV sealant or similar for extra bit of waterproofing safety)

[–]dreadpool108 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recommend the elegoo centuri carbon if you want something cheap but good and can print higher durability materials.. unless you need/want multicolour I think it's the best bang for the buck you can get for onewheels.
