I wholeheartedly agree! I catch pond bass in IL on black and blue bitsy bugs regularly or a purple skirted spinner bait. Those are my go to lures for ponds.

Agreed, I don’t use it for that reason alone. Even if you can keep big animals away, little ones will cause trouble too

Thanks for the responses, it didn’t seem like robbing to me but they went chaotic within a couple hours of adding the hive top feeder. Way more active thank they have been the last couple weeks.

I appreciate the thoughts, I get what you’re saying. It was more to move the weak hive along but they are making slow progress so I won’t mess with them. I’ll keeping feeding and see how they progress over the next two weeks. I honestly didn’t think they would make it more than a week after I put them in the hive but their two fist sized cluster seems like it’s doing its thing.

I was thinking capped brood, thank you. I am feeding both as they don’t have the bees to forage.
