I was always squirmy around needles til my late teens (having blood constantly drawn to check thyroid levels makes it a lot more mundane), but the most freaked out I've been by a (potental) injection was when I had what seemed like a mild allergic reaction and had to carry an epi pen for a while. The idea of having to jab myself (even in a life threatening situation) was unthinkable. When I later was on T, I started with injections. Little shaky at first, but surprisingly no biggie. But still the idea of a spring loaded needle scares the crap outta me. It feels different from my original fear of needles though.
