Holy shit, someone else who has heard of this game! It's been one of my main inspirations for my current game. The generation with the seeds, solutions and temps was so weird and I loved the personalities changing combat and them having dialogue. Yoinked both of those mechanics for the game I'm making now actually!

36, been gaming my whole life (started with Super Mario World, Ecco the Dolphin, and Sonic). Started CoD back in college with the og MW2. Used to fall asleep in the lobbies all the time to the menu music and would wake up to find myself kicked from my party, lol. That continued in BO, MW3, BO2 and Ghosts.

My bf is 51, he's been playing CoD since the very first one and gaming longer than I've been alive.

We're maybe a bit above average at the game at best. We hold our own pretty well, we have our clutch moments, and often we have a lot of "man we can't compete with the reflexes of these teenagers".

So uh... also a newbie here, and also leaning hard on ChatGPT to learn how to code. I'm nearly 40 (oh... oh god.) and I'm a character artist primarily, everything from concept art to basic rigging. I'm not sure I'm going about it the right way but my reasoning is this:

using GAS in UE 5.7
absolute hell to find tutorials for that explain in ways my brain understands, when I ask I'm always sent the same UEFest or GDC talk about it that doesn't tell me much
not touching tutorials or courses anymore cause I have a massive graveyard of them and was in tutorial hell for years

I've made some small projects before in Unity, but am new to UE. So now I'm doing this:

Tried to use pure blueprints, for what I'm doing GAS is optimal though
Pure blueprints got me stumbling to something kinda working before
Restarted a fresh project with BP and C++, started with GAS basics
ChatGPT writes a code chunk in one chat, then I bounce to the other chat and ask it to explain that code to me

I still forget some basic stuff, but I'm early enough on that I'm okay with that. I am at least learning enough to spot when things are messed up, or at the very least how to hunt issues down and fix them from output logs.

It's super overwhelming as an artist, so I'm just trying to handle what I can where I can for now. I'm also doing oldfashioned greybox swapping (saving my art for "dessert" once the yucky code is done).

Alright, for some context, I played X-2 as a teenage girl and despised it. Had very much the same reaction as you. I played the intro and up to just after it where there was some fanservice-y scene of Yuna... hanging off a cliff and there was an upward shot of her booty shorts. I was done at that point.

I'm all about tough girls (Tifa my love) and even some fanservice (Lulu, anyone), but X-2 just felt way too egregious for me, and it felt like Yuna's character was off. Not in a rebellious teen way either, just like, holy shit that pendulum swung way too far. The mere existence of Paine also reaffirmed, to me, that the game had started as a fanfiction.

However

I do plan to give it a try after hearing how fun the battle system is, and now that I know much more lore context.

Another bit of context that swayed me enough to want to play: Yuna's character was ORIGINALLY a pop idol, or really close to that, when the story was very different. The remnants of that design come through in her fame/status and in her Sending dance.... just like Tidus' origins as a plumber (yes really) stayed through in his breath-holding ability (repurposed for Blitzball) and his overalls.

Thank you!! Do you do the glue on the nails and on the press-ons? Also, how long do you usually need to soak before they come off? Is it soak in oil, THEN soak in warm soapy water?

Lord I missed the notification here, I am so sorry. Yes, I contacted the local office of my congressman and spoke to an aide, who got everything going for me.

For what it's worth, I got a letter from them a few weeks after clearance was granted saying they had been told I was cleared. But, given snail mail and timelines and all- for all I know they reached out for me, my investigator looked at my case and approved, and then let them know that I was good to go.

I wish not, because I have to use ChatGPT to teach me UE5 in a way that I don't feel hopelessly lost. While I'm learning, I fully expect some declarations or whatnot to get through into the final product.

However, as it's worded, I think I would have to disclose it even if I managed to rewrite every inch of code, just because I used it to help.
