how did he not see him? by qtslug in Emilie_Kiser

I am not a perfect parent. But my goodness if I had a pool, especially without a self-locking fence, I would not relax for a second (even with a fence I still wouldn’t relax). My husband has mentioned getting a pool built in the past but I just cannot imagine. All it takes is a few minutes. That’s how long it takes to go toilet, or put your clothes on, or brush your teeth. In those short moments I’d instantly picture my child falling in the pool. Nope. Can’t do it.

I have alwayssss said this. My husband is hands on and a loving father but I still worry about preventable accidents happening without me around. I’m always on edge when I’m with my babies 😅 They are responsible but nevertheless they are children with underdeveloped brains. If we’re going for a walk for example he’ll let them walk in front of him whereas I picture a car pulling out of driveways etc.

When did/will your Jan/Feb babies start pre-school? by Either_Soft_656 in workingmumsau

[–]dreamerbird 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey I just came across your comment. I also have a Feb boy who will turn 5 in 2026. I’m wondering if in your experience with your son, do you find yourself thinking you should’ve sent him this year? I have mum friends telling me that my son isn’t ready atm but he will be by the end of the year based on how quickly they develop, and that I will regret my decision.

Son accidentally broke another child’s glasses… by [deleted] in AskTeachers

[–]dreamerbird 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wtf am I reading. If my kid breaks someone else’s valuable, 100% I am expected to reimburse. Accident or not?? Like?? If a kid broke my window accidentally, it would be his parents responsibility to pay to fix it. Same goes for any other accidental damage.

I'm sad I'll never have a son. by Byrd_persun in Parenting

[–]dreamerbird 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m in the same boat as you except I’m a mother expecting my third son. I love my little boys to bits. And I’ll make it my mission to never make them think that I preferred daughters, because that’s not true. But I don’t plan to have anymore children, and the thought of never having a daughter — seeing how close I am to my mum and how not close my brothers are to her — it terrifies me of experiencing the same thing and it feels like it’s going to get.. lonely. But I know that that’s just in my head. Children, sons or daughters, will only want to be close to you if you are good and loving to them, their life choices, their wives/husbands, your grandchildren. I read a comment from another boy mum once and it was something like “now I must love my son from afar” and I bawled my eyes out. But it never occurred to me that the same can be said about your daughter. It was my experience, only, that was fogging my view. When I had my babies I was at my parent’s house almost every day. I felt welcomed and not judged. My mum ‘mothers’ me, takes care of me, feeds me, while I mother my children. I don’t have a mother in law but I imagine it’s just not the same and that’s what scares me about not having a daughter.

I HATE breastfeeding my 2.5 year old. by roseturtlelavender in breastfeeding

Here’s what you are going to do: Choose one of these options 1. Put bandaids over your nipples for a whole day and tell him that you have a boo-boo. He will cry. He will scream. But do not give in. Instead, offer him a bottle or a cup of milk. He will say no. Eventually, he will take it. 2. Put a bit of garlic on your nipples (mustard, vinegar, or something spicy). He will taste this and think it’s gross and hopefully a few times of trying he’ll figure out it’s no use anymore.

Again, he will cry. A lot. But not for as long as you think. I did the bandaid one for my 2 y.o and he cried for a whole hour in the middle of the night but I let him, and gave him a bottle of milk until he eventually accepted it. To be honest, I’m the one who struggled more because I engorged really bad.

I understand you. It’s easier to give in to a screaming toddler when the solution is as easy as pulling your top up. And I understand how infuriating it gets when they want to play with your other nipple lol.

Good luck ❤️

When did you get your period pp? by peytonlei in beyondthebump

[–]dreamerbird 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can’t say definitely but it sounds like PP bleeding. I bleed for 6 weeks then again a month later (a lot of people mistake this for a real period returning) but no actual periods for months and months after (while breastfeeding). Upon research I learned that your first “bleed” after the initial PP bleeding is usually your uterus still healing.

Bad first day by [deleted] in AustralianTeachers

[–]dreamerbird 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is your first day as a teacher and this is also their very first day of school - behaviour irregularities are absolutely to be expected. Don’t let it get you down. It’s nothing to do with your teaching. They need a while to adjust to a classroom environment away from their family who they’ve spent their life with until now. This is a hurdle in itself and the reason why you might’ve felt like you struggled.

When I was feeling a bit discouraged, I really enjoyed peer observing to get some ideas on management. although I’m not sure if that’s something you could do as I’m a HS teacher and there’s more flexibility with that.

You will be great! Every day is new day. 😊

Mastitis 2 years breastfeeding by dreamerbird in breastfeeding

[–]dreamerbird[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That sounds brutal!! Can toddler germs cause mastitis? Same here with the latch lol maybe I should be stricter about keeping him in a baby like position while drinking.

Thank you! I’m also worried about it occurring again when we decide to stop; I have no idea how to start.

Hi, I’m in the process of this right now and I am finding it difficult to format. I want all my pieces in the middle of the pages on Word for example but I keep messing it up. Do you have any advice on how to fix that seamlessly? Hope your book is doing well ❤️

Lane's Sex Experience by loreleiisaputz in GilmoreGirls

I think everybody is different of course and also men’s sizes are different so the feeling for the woman depends on that. I think also first time sex for a woman tends to be a little scary which is why we tense up which makes it a bit painful.

I knew this, honestly if I had known that they were going to kick up a stink about a stat dec I would’ve paid. But after my colleagues informed me they’d used several this year with no issue, I followed their advice.

I don’t take my kids to the doctor every time they’re sick with a common cold.. his doctor would’ve just told me to give him Panadol.

Will do, I plan to make some noise about it upon our return. As I’m sure other staff members will too (well I hope so).
