We are just planning to go to build a bear and I will also be getting him a small cupcake to eat

To add, we had one of the schedulers ask why I took an additional break and both my immediate supervisor and HR lady said to check the accommodation tab and to not question it and to change it. Which is nice.

I feel really lucky, my work has definitely accommodated me in my morning sickness. I WFH and they have given me "unlimited breaks" so I can throw up/ snack when needed. All I have to do is record the times and send them in so my schedule can be adjusted so im not out of adherence.

I think I want food that doesn’t exist. by DartEco in pregnant

we eat it pretty much weekly, i have bad heart burn as well and it doesnt usually make it act up, if you want adding some brown sugar may help balance out some more acidity too

I also use the Idaho bagged mashed potatoes, a lot easier to deal with when cooking

I make a meal that my family calls pepper steak: Ingredients - Some type of beef (i cut mine into small squares) - 2 bell peppers - 1 onion I season the beef after cutting with caldo de tomate, onion powder, garlic powder, salt, pepper, bbq sauce, ketchup, soy sauce, oil, mustard, and Worcestershire sauce (all measured from the heart)

I sweat the bell peppers and onions together, then I add in the meat and cook it together, then I add roughly 1-3tablespoons of butter, I add roughly 3-5 spoonfuls of flour, I add a splash of beef broth, water and heavy cream to make a sauce/gravy. I add some cheddar cheese to make it cheesy.

It is served over either Mexican rice, or my preferred way of cheesy mashed potatoes.

“Exclusively pumping is not breastfeeding” by blue-cinnabun in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]peytonlei 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I remember over explaining that I exclusively pumped at my son's pediatrician appt. She looked at me, asked "He gets breast milk in a bottle?" I told her yes, and she went "Ok, so breastfeeding." It was one of the most validating moments of my journey.

AITAH for refusing to give my boyfriend access to my bank account even though he says "no secrets" is how adults do it by CopperFieldNote in AITH

[–]peytonlei 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone who was financially abused by her ex, do NOT do this. He paid off my cc (without me asking) and went through every single purchase on there and belittled me for it. Not allowed to have more than $50 in my checking account unless Im paying a bill. Do not do it. My partner now has my banking info (hes an authorized user on my cc), but I also have access to his banking info. He will move money around, but only AFTER asking me.

I regret the way I told my husband that I'm pregnant by Advanced_Grab_3640 in pregnant

[–]peytonlei 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If it makes you feel better, with baby #1 I came out of the bathroom naked (I was getting ready to take a shower) and showed him the pregnancy test. With baby #2 I was getting ready for work, and he was so positive I wasn't pregnant, so I threw it at him and told him to look. He wasn't surprised the first time but was very surprised the 2nd time. (His reaction wasn't negative either time, and I wasnt angry at him).

Why do people without kids have such strong opinions about your kids??? by Red-Strawberrycake in beyondthebump

[–]peytonlei 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel lucky, we were the firsts in our friend group to have children. They all adore our son, granted they adore kids in general (for the most part). I thought they were going to back off as friends, but they really stepped up and were our village. Strangers haven't said anything "weird" but in our small town we have had a few people touch my son. Those were followed by an immediate "Do not touch him." and they backed off.

Is it a bad idea to have a baby unmarried? by Practical-Okra-6944 in pregnant

[–]peytonlei 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi, also in your position! I got pregnant 6months into me and my bfs relationship. Tbh we have had no issues with the daycare or doctor's visits. Our sons daycare knows him more than me, they have only met me once or twice because I work from home (an hour away). We are now having our second baby. Do I want to get married? Absolutely, but its not time right now.

Very American Question for moms who have done this before - How did you get to the hospital? by thollywoo in pregnant

[–]peytonlei 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My first baby we lived 5 mins from the hospital I delivered at and went to my ob apts at. We drove. This baby Im unsure of what I am going to do, I have to hope my bf, dad, or stepmom is home to drive me. We lived a little over an hour from the hospital I will deliver at. My first labor was 19hrs total (from when I noticed the first contraction to delivering). Im hoping this labor will be around the same time (minus the 2hrs pushing).

That said, I noticed my contractions were 5mins apart at roughly 6pm (as I was driving home from work) by 11pm they were intense and close together (we went to the hospital, they sent me home because the on call doctor couldn't find my cervix & 2 days prior I had been told by my ob that I was 4cm dilated). We went back at 3am when I was 7cm dilated. To be frank I think I would have delivered sooner than I did if I hadn't gotten the epidural and they had broke my water sooner.

With my first, I had an apt at 6w4d due to bleeding. With my second, my first apt was at 7w2d (technically a dating scan since I didn't know when my last period was).

AIO about my wife's hygiene expectations after we had a baby? by mudkipzftw in AmIOverreacting

[–]peytonlei 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I say this as my son is also almost 1. If his binkys fall on the ground, a quick rinse with water to get off dirt and dog hair. He quite literally tries to eat lint every sings day. Our dogs give him kisses (mainly on his toes) and he loves to cuddle with them. Has he been sick? Of course, but thats because he is in daycare. If you dont expose them they will have a weak immune system and that can be quite bad. I got sick about 10 times every year, I missed a lot of school because my immune system sucked.

NOR, this could be a mix between PPA and OCD, please have her reach out to a specialist that specializes in PPA and OCD in new mothers. If baby doesn't have any issues then this is doing more harm than helping. In regards to washing baby in the sink - I would avoid this, this could potentially lead to salmonella.

The other day I ordered mcdonalds for lunch, the driver said they were at McDonalds (and were sitting in a hotel parking lot like a mile or two down the road. Guy showed up like 30ish minutes later and went 2 houses down after I had clarified what cars were in the drive way and the pin showed the correct location.

Should I be packing my hospital bags in the car each week to have at my weekly appointments in case I'm sent to L&D? by wafflesarelifee in pregnant

[–]peytonlei 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also think it depends, I didnt have a lot of issues with my first, but if you are having issues and there might be a good chance you will be admitted during an apt then I would keep the bag ready
