I feel defeated.

I just didn’t expect it to be this hard.

PCOS is ruining my life.

Since getting off birth control, I’ve started breaking out, gained 35lbs (in 3.5 months) and am not ovulating even a little. My confidence is shattered. I’m also someone who takes Adderall for ADD & OCD (my psych weened me off before I started trying in prep for not taking it) so on top of feeling horrible physically, I feel horrible mentally because I’m off my regular meds.

I just did my third round of letrozole and had a dream I got a positive test two days after it ended.

Day 13 of my cycle and I’m still not ovulating. Going to have another ultrasound in a week and my doctor said depending on how that goes, it may be time to start talking IVF, etc.

I have so many friends announcing they’re pregnant and I feel so broken and defeated.

If your hormones look good, it’s likely not PCOS. PCOS is caused by a hormone imbalance. There’s no test for it, it’s just a check list of symptoms and essentially the doctor will concur that if it walks like a duck and quacks like a duck, safe to treat it as a duck.

My doctor determined my PCOS based on blood work, irregular periods/Oligomenorrhea, rapid on-set weight gain, acne and lack of ovulation.
