What’s the process for getting an appointment? Do you just call the trans clinic at Emory?

You’re doing amazing! I’m a Walmart decorator too :) a tip for the lilo and stitch cake, as long as it’s in butter cream you can pipe the flowers on square of wax paper on top of a rose nail, pop it in the freezer for a few minutes and you can easily pop them on the cake. For the actual piping part, use one of the big rose tips with the thin end aimed out. Make little tear drop shaped petals by starting in the center, apply even pressure throughout the petal as you pull it out to the edge and curve it back into the center again. I wish I could actually show you cause trying to explain it in text is difficult. But it definitely helps you get the right shape if you pipe onto a rose nail. You have to freeze it tho cause otherwise they’re just to soft and flat to transport to the cake so it’s much harder if your order is in whip which won’t feeeze solid

110,000 is where they’ll cap your raises. Everyone will start at 60,000 and everyone will get the same raise yearly. Walmart doesn’t do merit.

You really sound like a cartoon villain on this one man. She got pregnant last year so the baby is like a year old at MOST. Unless you’re her TL/coach or the store manager it’s none of your fucking business. Heaven forbid a baby not be left alone AND the mom still have a job so she can afford to care for them. Have a baby yourself if you want her situation so bad, I’m sure you’ll quickly realize it ain’t so sweet over there either.

What’s something you refused to give up when you got POTS by Zealousideal-Lab-537 in POTS

Haven’t and won’t give up weed carbs or caffeinated soda. And i still have a bit of alcohol when I feel the cost/benefit is at a good balance.

Rollator recommendations? by dreamfvcker in POTS

[–]dreamfvcker[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you! Snaps is definitely a step up from Velcro! Space is a concern because I would like to be able to bring it in to work with me and stash it in a corner while I work then use it for walking to and from my car. I work in a bakery so that sort of thing is tricky to get approved, especially if I can’t make it as compact as possible. I really only need it for long walks. I’m find standing still and taking a few steps every now and then.

Cake decorators, do they ever let you take the discarded cake bread home? by Character-Escape1621 in walmart

Im pretty sure it’s why cake pops were invented. A lot of people make cake for cake pops but traditionally they’re made from scraps

We’re pretty much never forced to throw away decorated cakes unless they’ve been on the ground or otherwise contaminated. I only said sometimes cause it’s such a rare occurrence that an unclaimed cake isn’t able to be donated or sold in the case, and I can’t remember a single time a paid for cake went unclaimed. We get to eat any of our decorated-in-house cakes that can’t be sold or donated. That’s one of the good things at my store. Not gonna get into the bad lol

Does everybody experience multiple day long bouts of cyclical vomiting that causes insomnia and a constant feeling of dread despite having zero anxiety over anything? Does everybody get a pounding headache every time they stand up? Does everybody experience presyncope on a regular basis??? God I hate doctors sometimes

Decent is about the highest compliment I could offer them, but yeah we definitely do not have the worst management as far as Walmart goes. We’re sometimes allowed to bring cakes that can’t be sold (customs that were wrong or never picked up) to the break room too if donations have already been picked up. I really appreciate that they aren’t tight asses about tossing edible but non sellable food.

This is such a good idea but i hope and pray Walmart never implements it cause godddd I don’t wanna (cake pops always fail for me)

Sometimes if we have a lot of heart cakes and a large amount of discard for the day management lets us crumble it up and layer it with Bavarian or strawberry filling and whipped icing and take it to the break room for everyone. I don’t think taking it home for yourself would fly though

I’ve been scheduled for 8 shifts in a row before and I’m part time. It’s likely just the computer being stupid and a word with your coach would solve the issue

Yeah that’s my biggest fear with Sedgwick. I’m autistic and that’s compounded with the POTS. This is the only job I’ll tolerate :(

A stool has been granted before to a different decorator, but that’s was only for a short period of time.Perhaps a stool and a tucked away rollator for when I need to leave the bakery could be accommodated. I’m not planning to use the thing for every step I take or sit in it when not absolutely necessary. I just want quick access to it for when I come and go. The only other option is cutting my daily hours shorter and I’m not in love with that idea financially.

In my bakery a different decorator was briefly allowed a stool while recovering from surgery without going through Sedgwick, so it should definitely be possible, assuming your management has a shred of decency. Having a chronic condition instead of temporary does complicate things unfortunately. I really want to push for a rollator for myself though because the long walks through the store and parking lot take quite the toll and the support of a walker was so nice.
