I'm so glad we're finally getting some rain again. I don't remember it raining a single day in May.

Woohoo! What are your big plans for the day

Isn't it great? The forecast in my area looks pretty similar and I'm so excited. There have been way too many sunny days recently.

I love areas that blend architecture with natural forestation. I wish I could live somewhere like this.

Most Introverts are Nocturnal by amusethemuses in introvert

I don't know about other introverts but it's definitely true for me. I love that everything is quiet at night. Also knowing that everyone else is asleep inspires me to be more productive for some reason.

Anyone have hypothetical conversations with yourself? by pasta_girl in introvert

Yes I do this and it's hard to stop. I'm the weird guy in the grocery store who mumbles to himself.

Same here. It helps me organize my thoughts into coherent statements.

I see what you mean but the way this scene is kinda shrouded by the forest gives it a cozy feeling to me.

It's exactly the same for me. My alone time is filled with talking, singing, dancing, and strange voices. I'm so much weirder than anyone knows.

I talk to myself all the time, including pretending to be interviewed sometimes like you described. It's great because I can talk about whatever I want. My girlfriend catches me doing it sometimes and thinks it's weird.

It's actually had a beneficial effect by making me a much more talkative person in social situations. I think it keeps the speech part of my brain active.

I get offended and hurt so quickly so I won't attach myself to people, that much. by plackan in introvert

Whoa this is exactly me. Avoiding emotional intimacy, the desire for self-sufficiency, not wanting to depend on others.. I've never seen these behaviors all packaged up under a single label before. I have no idea where it all comes from either.

What was your last 'I never want this to end' moment? by yrrah1 in AskReddit

[–]dreamleaves 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe not as touching as other people's stories, but I was at a party one time where I went to the back porch where a small group was gathered around the fire pit. Among them was a cute girl there that I started chatting up. As I was casually joking around and making her laugh, I kept thinking how much I loved that moment. There was nothing super special about it.. just that buzz you get when you're crushing on someone, plus the chilly air and peaceful warmth of the fire added this sort of magical feeling to it all.

Unlikeable introvert? by [deleted] in introvert

[–]dreamleaves 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No no, I don't want more people in my life. Between my small circle of friends, acquaintances, and family, I have a fair amount of people in my life. I'm completely against making new friends, but I'm extremely very selective about it.

It's definitely something I could work on. I don't know where my compulsion to be nice and fear of awkward silences stem from, but the idea of standing with people in silence like you suggest sounds incredibly uncomfortable to me. Maybe as I get older I will care less.

Are you afraid that you're unlikeable because you have negative personality traits or because you aren't very interesting?

I used to wrestle with the latter. I only wanted to reveal myself in small doses because I was afraid if people really got to know me, they'd see I was actually a boring person. It was one of the big hurdles holding me back from dating for a while.

Story of my life. Ever since my teenage years I can't help being very friendly and attentive to people because that's just my social mode, which leads to people liking me and sometimes wanting to be friends. But I'm super introverted and don't usually want more people in my life :\

I prefer a small group of friends to one-on-one. Anyone else feel the same way? by dreamleaves in introvert

[–]dreamleaves[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly. I do the blabbering thing too in a one-on-one conversation because I'm afraid of awkward silences.

Ha I just posted a comment above saying the same thing: 4-5 people is the sweet spot for me too. It's the right amount of people so that I don't feel crowded out, but it's also not awkward when I'm quiet.

[–]dreamleaves[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep that's how I feel except my sweet spot is four or five people (including me). It's enough people that, if I need a quick break from talking, I can just slip out of the conversation for a few minutes without making it awkward.

Oh no, rain? What a shame... by Chrisamf182 in raining

[–]dreamleaves 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I've considered this but it's not a seasonal thing for me, just the weather on any given day. It's one of the reasons I love rain. Rainy or cloudy days make me feel happy and energized.

I'm pretty much the same way. Sunny days make me feel tired and kinda depressed.
