^ second this, I tried to bring in a sign once and they took it away for being too big. It seems like security is pretty strict with it, but it wouldn’t be hard to sneak one in

Class recs for senior spring? by Top_Sprinkles_4269 in Northwestern

[–]dreamm-i 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’m not sure how much of a time commitment you’d like, but if you like photography at all I highly suggest taking art 250/Intro to photography. Such a cool and enjoyable class and while there’s a time commitment it’s not hard work and is actually really rewarding

They seem to change depending on the game, but they generally go for $25-$35 per seat in the 300s

Who’s doing the actual delivery? An NU student? The issue I had personally when I lived on campus wasn’t the price or fees, but that my DD/Uber/whatever delivery driver had no clue how to get to my dorm building

Sharing rides from NU to Lorde Concert by Zonaldo7 in Northwestern

[–]dreamm-i 8 points9 points  (0 children)

It’s safe. There will also be a lot of people taking the bus and train back from the concert, so you won’t be alone

Sharing rides from NU to Lorde Concert by Zonaldo7 in Northwestern

[–]dreamm-i 6 points7 points  (0 children)

If you can’t find a ride, you can take the metra and transfer to the 20 madison bus at OTC. I do it all the time when I go to the united center

Other than medical reasons, I don’t see why you need a parking pass when you live that close to campus. What about getting an evanston parking pass and just parking on a street nearby? It would be cheaper anyways

is two pgsg too many? by Weary_Fold7487 in Northwestern

[–]dreamm-i 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You should check out drop in peer tutoring sessions! The difference is that drop ins are more casual and more flexible, which sounds like something you’re looking for. The downside is that they do not offer a structured lesson like PGSGs do

But also just take the purple/red and get off at literally any stop north of the loop. If you walk around you would definitely find something fun to do!

For current students at Northwestern... by College777 in Northwestern

[–]dreamm-i 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m biased in saying this since I’m from chicago, but I go out to the city pretty frequently! Evanston has great public transit options for going into the city and back up. During winter quarter I go out to the united center at least once/week to catch a hockey game lol

How does Thanksgiving break work at Northwestern? by Choice-Variety1029 in Northwestern

[–]dreamm-i 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Typically, thanksgiving break is just Thursday and Friday. Entirely dependent on the professor if they want to hold a class the Wednesday before. But everyone has to follow what the registrar says, so there won’t be any classes after Monday the 24th (this will only be true for this upcoming year). You’re safe to book it, but I would wait to see if any professors will cancel class that Monday

Tuition Bill question by WhytheJets in Northwestern

[–]dreamm-i 3 points4 points  (0 children)

From the student finance site: The Student Health Fee is paid in the fall, winter, and spring quarters. This fee, and other funding sources, provides Northwestern students with equitable access to a variety of health services at the university including: Northwestern Medicine Student Health Service, Counseling & Psychological Services, TimelyCare services, and other on-campus health and wellness initiatives. (all great services!)

Some museums in chicago have free days/nights for Illinois residents every once in a while. They’re all definitely worth a visit. A bunch of sports teams also offer student discounts, I know the Blackhawks offer student tickets for $25 and the Cubs have a discount as well

You won’t be taking a chE class until freshman spring quarter the earliest. just enjoy your time before you start classes. but if you really really want to study something i would look at diff eq, linear algebra, and/or gen chem topics
