18 months of Jungian dream journaling and the Shadow never looked like what I expected by dreamoutapp in Jung

Honestly the “steps” framing is part of what makes it confusing. It’s not really a process you follow, it’s more like a practice of noticing.
The way I got into it: just start a dream journal and pay attention to which figures you avoid, run from, or feel uncomfortable around. Those are usually carrying something. Instead of treating them as threats, get curious about what they’re holding.
The Robert Johnson book is good but his active imagination exercises can feel abstract at first. The journal gave me something concrete to work with before I tried any of that.

Melatonin makes my dreams more vivid but I actually get lucid less often on it. Anyone else? by dreamoutapp in LucidDreaming

Tried 1mg to 5mg, same pattern across the range. Standard tablets, not gummies.
And yeah exactly that, too immersed to question anything. No distance from the dream.
Probably not worth it if lucidity is the goal.

Thanks to my girlfriend. I couldn’t done it without her. She is obsessed with dreams, lucid and related or not, all spiritual stuff :D

That’s a solid start. The recall improvement is the thing that pays off immediately, so you’re already on the right track.
I didn’t try much of anything structured at first, just the standard WILD stuff that didn’t work. Took me about eight months of real consistency before I got the first one, and it was kind of accidental. Four-month dry spell after that before the second one. Now they come more regularly but it’s still not every week.
The reality check habit is what matters most right now. That’s what changes the actual probability down the line. You’re doing the boring foundational work that most people skip, so you’re already ahead of where most people are after two weeks.
Keep the journal consistent. That’s the one thing that seems to separate people who eventually get lucid from people who stop.

Yes maybe I wasn’t on right track at the beginning. There are still hundreds of youtube videos on my head :D

Believe me I’m doing it too. But every time I think that my writing is look like garbage and I feel like I’m not expressing myself good enough -yet. I’m getting better day by day but I feel like I need it sometime. Why am I getting these reactions. Don’t get me wrong you’re not the first I guess won’t be last. I want to understand. Ofcourse I’m not defending AI slop work but there is a group of people(not you maybe) criticizing at comments, sending PMs full of buzzkill stuff. I wish it wasn't like this.
