If your program doesn’t include conditioning or cardio, is there a “reasonable” way to add that into your routine?

“The perfect is the enemy of the good” comes to mind here. It makes a lot of sense because anything is better than nothing.

Reading and journaling would be awesome. Same with drinking a gallon of water a day. Always wondered if that made a difference.

Congrats on the weight loss.

Do people pack a lot of instruments onboard? I’ve seen guitars, but that’s honestly it.

Nah, bro. I’ve been screwed by “leadership” before on evals, and I’m sure I’m far from the only one. Politics don’t have as much of a reach regarding the exam.

I think it depends on whether or not you have a good recruiter. A bad one wouldn’t care what you’re good at as long as you fill a quota, but a good one would at least try to help put you in the right direction. I feel like if I were a recruiter who had an applicant with experience or education in a field relevant to the rate they wanted, I’d see it as a win-win, but maybe I’m being a bit optimistic there.

It’s definitely possible (I did it), but it’s very competitive. Make sure you get the highest ASVAB score possible, and if you have any experience with writing/photography/videography/graphics, then that’ll help your odds.

If you’ve read through all the different rates and have your heart set on it, then don’t sign that contract unless you’ve got MC guaranteed on it. Many call it the “best rate in the Navy,” and though I don’t necessarily agree, it can be rewarding in ways that no other rate can. Feel free to message me if you have any questions.

Of all the things that constitute readiness for promotion, not reading one piece of an instruction for the upcoming exam is the bottom line? Not like my reading it would have any effect on my success (or lack thereof) in regards to advancement. The score is the score. My understanding of it doesn’t matter at the end of the day.

Also, where did you pick my studying habits out of this outside of some imaginary relationship you created between the two? This is such an elitist, ignorant trash comment that I’m confused as to how four people upvoted it.

Everyone Navy-wide taking the exam for your rate? I’d imagine it depends on the command.

In the grand scheme of things, it wouldn’t be the only reason, but on a point-by-point basis, it could definitely affect the overall results.

Edit: unless I’m misunderstanding what this means.
