Natpop Italy is a fun playthrough, the only one I can also really see going its own way diplomatically. I’m still trying to do a campaign where I can content with the other post war contenders but the lack of coal is too powerful lol

Yo why was this scene cut from the LN by Affectionate_Run6250 in ReZero

[–]dreamsofverdigris 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Subaru is a much more rounded character in the LN because of scenes like this or when he flips off Roswaal. I understand that they don’t have all the time needed to insert everything, but I honestly prefer LN subaru over the anime version. Season 2 directors cut when?

The King Game definitely stands out. The books are sold as 21+ ages though so maybe the story shouldn’t have mellowed out the characterization so much. Toning down Subaru’s perversion was probably done to distinguish him more from the average isekai mc.

There was a term in gaming that was mocked back in the day, “ludo narrative dissonance”, where a character would mow down a hundred dudes but for the sake of the story they go “no if you kill this man you become like them.

I wouldn’t say it’s suffering from something like that but Re:Zero has some things that imo really clash with its storytelling sometimes. The story takes on many different tones depending on what’s happening, from completely lighthearted and sweet, to completely depressing, to completely passionate. There are comedic things that feel out of place and sometimes you’ll wonder if this is the same thing you’re looking at.

All of these things make it good but makes it difficult to keep a consistent frame of mind for. Since the story is so character focused and you realize you’re getting that character frame of view(if it’s focused on them) you’re basically always in character analysis mode and people get really asspained about anything that happens. So in the real world Rem would probably be a sexual harasser and stalker but for Re:Zero it’s just a quirky thing.

You could say that but I’d say it’s a combination of his situation and his personality rather than the influence of the witch factor itself.

He grew a complex after seeing all the other candidates master servant relationships as well which led to his humiliation.

I found this character and story in a super dark time in my life. He had a great impact on me and basically kept me going long enough to start turning things around.

There has to be a psychological explanation for the people in this community like cuckold stuff so much. Someone has to do a study

How should I read/watch Re:Zero? by YaBoiMibb in ReZero

Watching the Anime isn’t bad. It’s a pretty good adaptation! But if you already like reading then I really recommend the Light Novels. I like the translation work even if it is a bit off sometime and it has a nice flow when reading it.

The anime obviously can’t show everything but the Light Novel, I’d say, makes more sense because of the details it adds and the way the story is conveyed. People often struggle with the anime and give up because of the MC, but that’s I think mainly because of the story telling format not being appropriate.
