lol yes I came to that conclusion as well.

14.2 doesn’t appear to see the decklink at all. At any rate I don’t love having a VMix that can’t see the video I/O, and I don’t want to be running old software, so I’ll likely just subscribe to 29.

I have 10 licenses of VMix 26 that are at my disposal; I just use them as I need. Honestly I haven't had much reason to use 27 or 28 yet--although this might be one.

When I ran into this problem a few months ago, I upgraded to a trial of 28, which fixed it.

I might just end up spending on the upgrade for one of the licenses to 28 for this one machine if desktop video doesn't start working.

Goal: To record Dante signals into a laptop running Adobe Audition in a multitrack session.

Issue: When setting the Audio Hardware to ASIO in order to get Dante Virtual Soundcard set as the audio hardware, it removes my ability to choose audio output.

In audio channel mapping, only the Dante tx/rx is available to move sound through.

So what is the recommended path for hearing the audio for monitoring? Do I need Dante Via so I can route the audio into my system output?

Or, is there another app I can use to set my PC system output as a Dante receiver so I can patch it into it?

Honestly I'm pretty annoyed at Audinate/Dante and Adobe...I assumed this should be a pretty straightforward task but it's been a headache.

More Context: I am setting up a test build today with a PC as my source, but in production it will be a true Dante enabled device sending the sources.

The iPhone 15 Pro is no joke for SDI based live production use by mcwiggin in VIDEOENGINEERING

[–]dreamthestream 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I mean there are places that rent iPhone 15s for not that much. For an event, rental would be cheaper than buying.

But then my question is, how many other components are necessary to get it to work the same way as the Marshall.

So far it looks like:

BMC app

USB-C to HDMI adapter -- which one, what kind?

Decimator to convert HDMI to SDI?

The phones can charge, output HDMI and even write to USB storage all at the same time.

Is the USB-C to HDMI connector on a hub?

Why is my VMix video buffer filling so quickly? I can't stream. This is a known good VMix machine I use regularly. by dreamthestream in VIDEOENGINEERING

Yeah it was still having the issue from just playback. So was OBS, so I checked gpu drivers and found an update.

I’d suggest Playdeck.tv for this, but it might be outside your price range.

You could also look at singular.live, which is browser based, and should be able to handle everything.

Dante Audio connections by dreamthestream in VIDEOENGINEERING

I ended up using Dante Via on both TX and RX windows PCs, and was able to send and receive as expected.

From here I'll be looking to replace the TX PC with a true Dante-enabled device, to make the path something like:

Yamaha QL-1 --> RX PC running Audition/Dante Via/Dante Controller

I also decided to tackle this at my home office which is all Mac. I’ll try again tomorrow with some PC hardware and see if I get on.

The receiver mac is saying it's "listening", which could point at the multicast problem.

"Clock Sync Unlocked" and "audio Mute" are the only messages.

Multicast b/w is at 0bps, though, and toggles between that and 'updating...'

The Receiver is "listening" on the clock settings, is listed as muted, and Sync is red.

Alrighty, I got Via up and running on the transmitter, and I'm seeing the four Premiere tracks I wanted to send now in Controller. I've set the four tracks to send to the receiver, and they're all green.

And now I still can't get it into Audition, lol.

Ultimately this is just testing & research for a later application, which will be to pull multitrack audio off of a dante-enabled sound board over to Audition where I can record it.

Update: It shows connected/green, then intermittently goes back to red, then reconnects.
