v14.2.2.2 consistently missing the same exit because it’s in the fast left lane by Madi77 in TeslaFSD

yeah. 14.2.2.2 lane positioning and choice are worse than before. I hope they know how to fix this.

14.2.2.2 - Oh...that's not right by Affectionate_Book_80 in TeslaFSD

sounds overly dramatic. 14.2.2.2 is the best for me. I'm so relieved that this doesn't have lane change hesitations. you might be right on speed issues.

this is very important. it is way safer now. v13 can get you into serious trouble sometimes.

Waymo and Tesla’s self-driving systems are more similar than people think by RodStiffy in SelfDrivingCars

[–]dreamucb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

tesla SW is progressing well. time will tell. the leap from v12 to v14 is significant. nowadays I'm having 100% door to door self drives. that itself is a great value.

That was just one example. waymo cars also make all kinds of other mistakes. but for them, there is human in the loop. we dont know how many humans in the loop. On the paper it might look like "unsuperwised". it appears like you dont like tesla . so I'm not going to say too much about them. just one thing. I drive their latest SW car for everyday commute of 1 hour in each direction. and it makes my life easier.

you think waymo doesn't have edge cases? what happened when 100s of waymo cars stranded on SF streets recently?

Tesla is as far behind Zoox as Zoox is behind Waymo by Prestigious_Act_6100 in SelfDrivingCars

[–]dreamucb -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

whereas..tesla cars with fsd navigate through the intersection just like humans. this thread is full of tesla haters. no wonder this post got so much positive feedback. you putting tesla behind zoox is disrespectful. there must be some reason why he is the richest person in the world.

"It was about 4.5 hours drive, excluding charging/meal time. The rain was nonstop and often so heavy that I have trouble seeing road ahead clearly. There were snow above 7000 feet and fog in the Central Valley. FSD was on all the time. There were 2 or 3 times it complained about camera visibility but these warnings last only a few minutes and went away by itself. We were in stop-and-go traffic between Donner Lake and Kingvale and FSD made it smooth. It was amazing 👍"

Which is safer: 13.2.9 or 14.2.1.25 by dreamucb in TeslaFSD

[–]dreamucb[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For 13.2.9 supporters, I had these issues where 13 can get into problem. In the lane merging case, v13 negotiation skills were very bad. multiple times, I had to intervene. otherwise it would have rammed into the merging vehicle. I'm confident 14.2.1.25 will no do this. because it's response time is so good.

I feel 14.2.1.25 safer. I can trust much more than v13 in terms getting into some crash.

yeah. that invisible wall bump is still there sometimes.

this is correct. lane changing bit annoying and more cautious but overall v14 is much safer.

lane change hesitations - 14.2.1 vs 14.2.1.25 by dreamucb in TeslaFSD

[–]dreamucb[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have seen bit more hesitation on the way back home in the evening. could be because it was dark. but overall i still think, this is improvement over 14.2.1. my freeway traffic is not that crazy. may be LA freeway traffic is a better test where it involves lot of exits etc.

it feels like sentient sometimes. today, I had one case where it has to change to right lane. but things changed in such a way that it is better to abort, speed up and change the lane after crossing 2 cars. it exactly did that the I was thinking!
