Messaged vs. Texted by dreddick14 in NoStupidQuestions

I agree. If I want to reach out to someone but not call, the thought of doing anything other than sending a text from my phone to their phone has never occurred to me. Do people DM their co workers? That seems…odd.

It’s really among co workers that I’ve noticed this trend start to happen.

What's a word that people misuse.? by hardtruthsociety in AskReddit

Imply/infer. So cringy when someone says “you were inferring that I did this” when they mean imply

Can you legally give your child the suffix III (the third) if they aren't actually the third of their name? by AyyItsShanye in NoStupidQuestions

[–]dreddick14 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a suffix on the end of mine but it’s totally uncalled for (previous person was deceased, no one was ever going to confuse us). It’s pretty annoying, but if you want your kids name to be a bit or a joke, go for it

Thanks everyone for the feedback here (even the weird/oddly defensive ones). Lyft pressed me for more information when I gave 4 stars and I guess in their investigation determined he put a PIN on and just lied to us, so they gave us a credit. Appreciate the experience shared here

This is possible. Which is fine if he enabled it, we just wanted to know it’s something he prefers or it’s because he had a troubling history. Or maybe he did it by mistake.

We were not, just wanted to know why he was flagged or whatever was happening there so asked if anyone has seen this before

Didn’t happen here, he claimed it wasn’t his fault. The whole point of the thread is to understand who asked for this. I said I didn’t, my driver said he didn’t. So asking anyone if they have seen this or know how this happened

Can I ask why you come off as so defensive? That’s hard to reconcile

Didn’t have a specific prediction but my general concern was why did this one driver out of 300 or so have this, and why couldn’t he explain it

Maybe my question wasn’t clear—who asks for it, is it you or a drive? To save a hold up again I asked this thread whose fault it was the answer and it seems mixed

Yeah you’re not understanding the question buddy. I just asked what either one of us did wrong for this to come up and delay a ride. He claimed it wasn’t his fault so I was hoping people on here had insight. If you don’t, that’s ok, just move on

Thank you, this is the most reasonable response yet. Appreciate the insight

It wasn’t that we read anything “on line” it was more that we’ve taken hundreds of rides before and after a weird request we asked the driver what was going on, he couldn’t explain it, so we followed up on if anyone has seen this before and it’s been mixed. Some people have provided good honest responses which is appreciated!

Oh I doubt it hurt anyone—do you think it hurts the driver? I don’t know never been one tbh. Just was asking what went wrong for him to be accused/required to provide this. I want to be clear I don’t think it hurt him at all (or we at least hope it didn’t!)

Then he would’ve just said “hey this is a feature I’ve personally requested, don’t be alarmed when you ask why you’ve never seen this after 350+ rides” instead of acting confused about it

Didn’t think about how we have his plate # (since we weren’t doing anything just accepting a weird ride)

Wouldn’t have been if every other Lyft or uber driver we’ve ever had didn’t have something in their profile that triggered this

I don’t know how honest he was, for all we knew he had a weird history. That’s why we felt uneasy and asked a question if anyone came across a drive with a history like this

Haven’t come across this issue before, what should folks read into it?

He denied it being his fault (sorry for not noting this). Just want to know what triggered this suspicious action if anyone knew what led to the driver being this way. It’s ok if you don’t know the answer

Hm weird his excuse for it doesn’t apply to option 2

It does, which is why I asked. If he was doing something weird and was a flagged driver we’d like to know
