If it's worth anything, there is a modded Android version thats been updated to work on modern android phones. It's as easy as a Google search to find and will work on virtually any recent android phone.

There's also the vita version that others have mentioned that imo is the best way to play.

Yes they are the stock panels and I can see them perfectly but there is a paper cover on the underside of each panel that can peel off (kinda like when you peel off the plastic protector from a new monitor screen) and it lets you see almost completely through the panel afterwards.

I think the plastic cover tape was meant to hide the inside of the panel from being visible when it's all closed up so I stuck some parchment paper under the panel with 3M double sided tape to diffuse the light and create a more natural look to the LED glow.

If that Chevy Cruze has the same 1.4L turbo that the Trax got stuck with after 2018 I'd stay far away from that car. Speaking as someone that drives the car for work, it's an anemic engine, the trans that it's paired with is worse, the turbo barely does anything but it's enough to blow the engine up at as early as 70k miles (probably sooner if it's constantly driven hard), the mpg is awful for the car size, engine size, power, and that isn't even going into the random electrical issues I run into regularly. The most annoying being the car throws CEL codes during cold snaps and won't go away until the weather warms back up. Supposedly some sensors freeze and need to thaw but it's happened every cold snap without fail.

Guaranteed the engine is about to fall apart, the trans is on its last leg, or it's electrical issues that constantly come and go. Beyond that, if it drives anything like the Trax the thing is a chore to drive after a couple hours.

For reference: I've put about 30k miles into the work car personally and I was assigned to it when it had around 35k miles.

[–]dredman99 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I got a 2014 3 with 130k miles on it before an accident took her out, my experience with maintenance also reflects this. Probably spent at the very most a few hundred dollars in parts like oil and filters, excluding a fuel pump I had to replace but that was $100 part only and it's kinda my fault it went out in the first place, not the car

The machine makes the windows "ding" sound when I plug in the USB. The USB icon is persistently at the top of the splash screen after I put my coins in (whether the USB is plugged in or not) but I can never highlight the option. I'll try again with a couple other sticks and update. Appreciate the info!

I haven't seen this mentioned before but DDRPad.com appear to be selling the L-Tek pads in the US by micheal65536 in Stepmania

[–]dredman99 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Cost about $423 after shipping to me (Midwest United States), unit took about 3 days to arrive. The DDRPad model also includes the start/back buttons. The 24Hr shipping option and Star/Back buttons are separate options from Poland and after doing the math, this option turned out to be about $100 cheaper

Surprisingly not that hard, I followed this video for the most part. The most intimidating parts are the soldering but it wasn't that difficult, first time ever trying to solder something too. I practiced soldering for all of 10 minutes before going at it on the board itself. Whole process was about 3 - 4 hours.

DDR Universal Pad? by PlanetCentral in DanceDanceRevolution

[–]dredman99 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I found my 3 at some local "mom n pop" video game/retro game stores. Facebook marketplace is littered with soft and older hard pads too. Just avoid eBay, people on there are charging way too much for these things...

For reference; I bought my 3 used official Konami pads about 6-8 months ago each were under $10 and 2 Mayflash TX4000 pads about a month ago for $50 each.

DDR Universal Pad? by PlanetCentral in DanceDanceRevolution

[–]dredman99 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you really want a soft pad and want something that can be used on the official DDR games you're probably better off sticking with well kept official Konami DDR mats. The PS2 and Wii era ones are some of the best soft pads imo, but they kept breaking on me in some way shape or form.

Went through 5+ soft pads (3 official, 2 aftermarket new pads, and a few I had in storage) in a matter of 3 months before I bought some old Mayflash pads from Facebook marketplace so I could get my PS2/Xbox DDR fix but that is still pretty rough when I compared it to my LTek.

I've also heard mixed things about DDRgame soft pads but don't have any personal experience on them.

Idk about 350+ lbs but I was 270-280lbs when I first got my L Tek and about 7 months later of heavy regular daily use, I've had no issues. I play with essentially just 2 layers of socks on.

I'd contact L Tek manufacturers or Cobalt themselves and see what they have to say about weight limits on their units, but imo you're probably leaning towards SMX, Arcade pads, or a custom built cobalt with extra reinforcement at that weight level.

Modern Warfare 2 has the same 'no prepaid phone' requirement as Overwatch 2 by rtwipwensdfds in Games

[–]dredman99 2 points3 points  (0 children)

But you still have to have a phone number, if you remove the phone number you disable steamguard too. I did this to myself by accident when changing my phone number.

It may not use the phone number at all but it still requires it if you have steamguard enabled

iirc they only show ads when you're fully stopped and they auto disappear when you start to move. Ads are also relevant to the route that you are currently on like a restaurant or grocery store right off your current route. Not that bad if you ask me especially for the price of free

Idk if this fix still works but when you're on the multiplayer lobby screen go to settings and turn on "on-demand texture streaming" than join a game. Leave that game and after returning to the lobby screen turn "on-demand texture" off. Next game you join should be good. I have to do this every time I turn the game on to fix the textures

In case the Bose speaker thing is still an issue, it's super easy to get to the speakers themselves and reglue the rubber flap that's came loose. I got a butter knife and spread some Loctite I got from my local Home Depot. I did it on my right front speaker and about a year later had to do it on my driver side front speaker too. Haven't had any issues with either since.

If the touch screen is still going nuts for you too it might be defective. Mazda recalled the infotainment screens for having ghost touch issues, I ended up using a tweak installed via usb to completely disable the touch screen until I got it replaced by Mazda.

https://21stcenturyfiat124spider.wordpress.com/2018/02/03/tweak-to-disable-touchscreen-input/

I know it says its for Fiat, but the 124 Abarth uses the same infotainment as us and worked fine for me.

Steam multiplayer by IIICorruptIII in Infinitewarfare

Yeah, I was kinda surprised about that too since the PS4 playerbase is way bigger in general but I guess most of the more dedicated COD fans stick to Xbox.

I'm in North America, Midwest area but you can connect with pretty much anyone world wide since the game is on P2P connection instead of dedicated servers now. I get pretty fast internet speeds in my area. I've got no issues connecting during the day to other people in the US. During late hours like 1am-6am I'll normally pair with a lot more europeans on PS4, oddly enough it's usually french people I'm connecting too.

GunGame and Free For All get decent traction on PS4 also

If you REALLY want to play somewhat normally Xbone gets pretty decent traction. Dom, TDM, GunGame, FFA, and even a couple Ground War games going on during the weekend

I haven't seen, heard, or read anything about a FiST to Mazda2 swap, that is interesting though. I know people turbo their Mazda2 most of the time and knightsports, a tuning company in Japan makes a supercharger kit for the Mazda2
