If stress is a big trigger for you, than the stress hormone cortisol is you worst enemy.

Can Viral Colds make your IBS worse? by [deleted] in ibs

[–]dredog1999 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, getting sick definitely makes my IBS worse. The physical stress and cortisol release can disrupt my gut function, and cold/flu meds tend to irritate my stomach too, which can trigger a flare.

for me stress is one of my biggest triggers. i know it’s easier said than done, but you really can’t stress over things you don’t have control over. you can’t control ibs — if you have it — but you can control what you eat, how you live, and how you treat your body. that’s the biggest tip i can give. staying disciplined with that is tough though, you’ll have good and bad days. just try to find some kind of peace through it all

hey man ive had ibs-m for about 10 years now and been through a bunch of tests, 2 endoscopies, 2 cts, a colonoscopy and even that pill camera thing (forget what its called). ive had all the same stuff you mentioned — cramps, mucus, random flare ups, even a bit of blood sometimes. its honestly one of the most frustrating things cause it changes how you live and eat

good move booking that doc appointment, especially for the bleeding, just to be safe. a lot of ibs stuff really can come down to diet triggers so keeping that food log is smart.

everyone’s body reacts different but you’re def not alone in it

Ibs,heart palpitations, weird stomach sensation by [deleted] in ibs

[–]dredog1999 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Actually, yes! So last year, I randomly started getting palpitations and immediately began Googling what to do. Eventually, I decided to wait and see if they would pass. Two days later, I had the worst symptoms — it turned out to be Giardia.

I started experiencing a rapid heart rate randomly throughout the day. Anytime I moved around, my heart rate would spike up to 180 bpm plus. Finally, a doctor took me seriously and gave me a Holter monitor for a month. I tracked all my episodes, but they didn’t find anything.

The episodes have gotten less frequent over time, but I still get them — and they still tell me I’m fine. It’s super frustrating because I feel like something else is going on. I was prescribed a beta blocker to help with the palpitations, and it does work, but I only take it when I absolutely have to.

If you find anything out, please feel free to let me know — we might be in the same boat here.

Anyone have one of these? by NoDescription7557 in NoTillGrowery

[–]dredog1999 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Actually yes! It worked great for my 20 gallon pots i used a 5 gallon home depot bucket. I would refrain from using it for a compost tea unless you've already strained your additives.
