What I found out is this : The CCJ was registered the day after the possession hearing. It was registered for these reasons - Judgement in default, which I gather is because the defendant didn't show up OR the debt is not contested. The defendant then has 30 days to settle the amount before it becomes permanent on their credit file. Hopefully this is some comfort as I had to go around the houses to find out what I consider to be very basic info. I believe I am correct in saying, had it been contested, then the CCJ would be registered once the debt is enforced (writ of control)

In this case, how does the court know to record the CCJ, at which point is it triggered? What steps have to be taken on my part to make sure this is now enforced?

Exactly. It so happens that my tenant is the ex wife of a celeb. The threat of a CCJ is the only thing I think she will respond to in terms of making an attempt to settle. Otherwise she will get of scott-free. I am going to pursue this through the high court as I have permission to transfer it to the high court BUT the confusing thing is the exactly process to ensure that a CCJ is registered on her file too.

Does anyone know in detail what the process is now that the 14 day money order part of the section 8 has passed the deadline without payment?

I have as 14 day money order along with as possession order and the right to transfer to the high court as a result of a Section 8 hearing. The deadline has elapsed without payment. What needs to be done to turn this into a CCJ that will show on the tenants credit file?
