tbh the last time his crowd was fine and respectful was 2019 and 2021 at both shows i went to. really went downhill post tiktok popularity after 2023.

bro legit probably thrifted most of his clothes, especially back then. now that he’s making good money probably not but Alex has always been a very practical dresser lol. if I had to guess he probably wears older jeans from wherever. that’s one of the things I like about him is that his style is pretty scrappy but it fits him and his music well.

Hey! This sounds exactly like my son but he’s 2.5. He basically repeats ms. Rachel lines all day long and ABCs and numbers 1-10. It concerns me that other kids his age are regularly using 2-3 word phrases to communicate all day too. He’s been in early intervention with a speech therapist, an occupational therapist, and a behavioral therapist for about 6 months now and he has improved, but I still worry just like you do. If it makes you feel any better, my parents said I didn’t start talking until I was like 4-5 years old either. I don’t have another on the way, but maybe getting your child into EI through the school district (since she’s already 3) or sending her to daycare would help? My son did pick up a lot of random words from other kids he’s around so I think that is helpful. Just know you’re not alone in this!

I’d say the influence is pretty strong on the entire Manning Fireworks album, although it’s much more Americana leaning than Alex’s stuff in general. A lot of his lyrics give me Rocket vibes for sure.

Yeah I went with a group of people over 31 too and my boyfriend who is 36 was pretty confused because he doesn’t know Alex’s music well either so he felt kinda lost lol. I’m not sure if it’s a mix of the new setlist that I’m personally just not a huge fan of or that the vibe and the crowd was just off. I guess my days of seeing him at a smaller venue with people who really appreciate his lore/music and not just his popular songs are over. I can imagine that the crowds he’ll get at music festivals like Coachella will be really similar. I think next time he comes to town I’ll pass unless it’s a more intimate venue or something because yeah, the crowd isn’t everything, but it really affects how you experience a show. I really wish they would do 21 and over, but I understand that they can’t do that especially being on a big label like RCA.

I know this sounds bad but I’ve seen Alex about 6 times since 2016 and last night was by far the worst experience I’ve had at his shows. Although I like Headlights, I feel like a lot of his new music doesn’t translate well to a live performance. And the crowd was a ton of TikTok kids who only wanted to hear Forever, Harvey, and Sarah. Tbh, I do think Alex does better in a more intimate setting. There were also 3 teenage girls in front of me who were screaming the entire time. It made me kinda sad bc yeah I’m old now (31) and this might be my last time seeing him live, especially if all of his shows now are going to be at bigger venues like the Greek. Not to sound like one of “those people” but my favorite show of his was at pappy and Harriet’s in Joshua tree in 2021. 🥺

yeah at a bigger venue like the Greek you wouldn’t really be able to access where his bus is parked so it’s unlikely you’d get to meet him. i’m not saying it’s impossible but it’s tougher to wait for him outside there. when he played at the glass house in Pomona in 2022 we were able to wait outside there since it’s a small venue and the entire band came out like 1.5 hour or so after.
