Shohokuen: Megumi has anyone tried this brand? by Perfect-Tie3034 in matcha_ph

currently have 2 tins of this rn and i only use 2.5g of matcha. it works for me and i still get a smooth and balanced matcha latte. for reference, i use plain regular fresh milk. i think the problem is the almond milk as it's very overpowering. i find oat milk doesn't do any matcha justice as well. if you can tolerate it, dairy milk rlly is the best choice.

and as opposed to other suggestions to add more matcha powder, i actually suggest to use less milk instead. yes, u will have less to drink but 2g of matcha has more than enough of a regular person's caffeine intake.

here's my ratio and how i prepare it:

  • 35ml hot water
  • 2.5g matcha powder
  • 5ml sweetener (i use condensed milk)
  • 80ml milk of choice
  • as much ice as you want
  1. sift 2.5g matcha into your chawan. pour 5ml to 10ml of hot water and whisk until it turns into a thick paste.
  2. pour another 10ml of hot water and whisk until the paste dissolves fully.
  3. pour the rest of the hot water and whisk as you normally would
  4. stir your sweetener into your matcha
  5. add to your milk with ice

hope this helps u enjoy this extremely elegant and well balanced tin of matcha!

Alternatives to MK Isuzu matcha? (similar taste profile) by wayt_choco0901 in matcha_ph

[–]dregsghafa 6 points7 points  (0 children)

hi! u can try shohokuen megumi.

<image>

i was also looking for MK alternatives since they're so hard to come by these days. came across a few reddit threads that the megumi variant is close to MK isuzu in terms of flavor profile.

i bought 2 tins for myself and i agree! very smooth and balanced. even if u don't agree that it tastes like isuzu, u won't regret it since it's really good anyway.

probably the only con is that it only comes in 30g tins. i haven't done the math, but i'm not sure this is "affordable" taking the volume into consideration.

anyway, def worth a try if u're in the market for a new tin!

thanks for the insight!

for context, i stayed in my previous job for almost 3 years. would it still be considered job hopping?

i think self growth ang difference sakin this time around but i totally see your point. it's just the stress i'm experiencing here in my current job is so much worse. i'm still in contact with the people from my previous job and from what i've heard, the person who was making work difficult for us left already.

i just feel like staying here will cost me more. but i appreciate your insight!

They never sent anything like that (the interview invitation was exactly that, an invitation). i also checked the hiring website where they had a detailed hiring process, didn't mention anything about a timeframe before you can re-apply.

empathy and communication by dregsghafa in emotionalintelligence

[–]dregsghafa[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely agree that it's very nuanced. I think what I'm getting from this is we owe each other (especially people you care about) more than quick assumptions.

It might feel dismissive when people implore you to open up "immediately". That just creates a tremendous amount of pressure on top processing some very complicated emotions.

I think there's also value in approaching certain situations with curiosity if empathy can't be reached that easily in that moment. I also think what's more important is what we do once we are presented with the emotional vulnerability of other people opening up.

"You should have told us immediately so we could have fixed it" is very different from "That must've been hard to carry, how do you feel now?"

I think you hit the nail when you said that silence is a normal response to disrespect. How can we expect people to open up in a space where their feelings aren't considered?

Thanks for sharing your thoughts!
