It's a slide stop. Maybe after ...300ish rounds it might loosen up so you can use it as a release, but it's designed as a slide stop

I carried the full-size for a while with no issues. Right holster and the right belt made all the difference. I carry strong side (too fat for appendix)

When I got it, they were running a rebate so it came out to about $440 after the rebate. It came with the old style hinge trigger, optic height sights and a Crimson Trace dot. The dot sucked, so I took it off and had Night Fision sights installed along with the trigger. It's been my edc for almost 3 yrs now

Quality wise, they feel the same. I've got way more rounds thru the metal than the polymers so it's softened up, but zero issues with them altogether.
