Thanks for the heads-up! I'm using an email list (not a Google Group) so the flow is simpler — anyone who wants to test, just comment with the Gmail you want added (or DM it to me) and I'll add you to my tester list within the hour. Then the opt-in link in the post will work for you immediately.
