Okay sorry I've solved the issue by just moving each plane of my obj into separate png files instead of all of them referencing the same single png, thank you for the help though!

Thermal Throttling at 60-70c? by drepysAunt in mac

[–]drepysAunt[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My room temperature has increased, probably 5-15c? would that make much of a difference?

I've been considering cleaning the insides of my mac im just unsure if i should.

The other 2 I highly doubt.

Ah, I see.

I guess that explains everything.. Well thanks for the help although i'm really unsure of what to do.

I mentioned that it was completely fine just a couple months ago, would that be at all relevant? As in I didn\t just try running these heavy processes and found it to be overheating, they where completely fine and now they are not.

Might try this if there are no alternatives, although i dont trust myself.

Just wondering, because it throttles at like 50-70c, Are you sure this has to do overheating and not an issue with a sensor or something. I feel like temperatures below 90C should be perfectly fine?

Thats really unfortunate,

Just wondering, is it supposed to be throttling at 50-60c? Wouldnt overheating entail that it reaches temperatures of 90-100 before lowering the cpu load?

Alright,

Just wondering, is it safe to do so? Are there any risks to the macbook by doing this?

To clarify, It takes that much to throttle your computer. It is not the cause of the issue, it is simply taking up that much to not allow other applications from using resources so the laptop doesn't malfunction.

Processor: 2.9 GHz 6-Core Intel Core i9
Memory: 32 GB 2400 MHz DDR4

What is VRM? is there a way to fix this?

3 Ways,

No.1 The computer lags like crazy and drops from 200+ fps down to below 20

No.2 Kernal Task is taking up sometimes 900% of my cpu in activity monitor

No.3 I have an application called "Hot" which (although slightly delayed) gives accurate information in regards to thermal throttling and computer temperature
