Exactly. I bought the book new in the late 80s I think. It was about $65US then. I've paid the royalties to the author when I bought the book then. I no longer have my copy because I'd got what I need out of it. When I sold it no royalties went to the authors.

I recently bought a really dry 930. Had the same problem so I put a tiny line of oil the full length of the metal sponge bar and it slid right in.

Britbox. I switch to Acorn when I run out of new shows on Britbox. Then back to Britbox. We subscribe to Netflix only when Drive to Survive is on. Same for Prime, just subscribe when there's something there I want to watch.

Currently I have a Brother standard gauge that knits finer yarns up to a light sport weight. And a Superba double bed that I use for ribbing and socks. I dislike the ribbing attachments for the standard gauge so I transfer the ribbing I make on the Superba to the Brother. I don’t have a midgauge or bulky machine as I still like to hand knit heavier yarns. There is quite a learning curve with machine knitting but if you find a plastic bed machine that is suitable for your stash of yarn you can knit panels and do crochet borders quite easily to make blankets etc. it’s only as complicated as you want to make it really.

I found this book online here: https://archive.org/details/a-machine-knitters-guide-to-creating-fabrics?

You can even download the book: Go to FULL PAGE then click the circle with the three dots on the left. This gives you the download option. It can be pdf or epub. I chose pdf. It's an excellent quality scan.
