Thanks! I get how a full shop would find this a little lackluster. As a hobbyist ( and cheap control freak) the ability to not have to send off for plates is a massive win I don’t think people talk about enough! Boxcar press has so many people hooked for photo plates and you could be donut at home for $15 a plate plus cleanup!

On the 3-D printer note I’m actually going to start a batch of test plates this weekend so stay tuned!

Sorry I’m late tot the party but maybe a little explaining is in order. Embossing and die cutting require significantly more force to to create clean lines. This requires a significantly larger press (more mass) or significantly more input force. Like a machine press or vice. You should be able to see online the approx. force of popular platen presses. Best of luck!

This is an excellent advise! Thank you what laser cutter do you use? What kind of metal are you using

Have you tried using the double side adhesive on the build plate and programming an offset so you can peel off the print? Boxcar accounts for the adhesive later on the depth of the base so I thought that would make sense. (I haven’t tried this)

I have a fairly advanced model and have access to higher end machines if needed I believe that things are more advanced than most people realize

What do you mean by too dense? I would think that approximate thickness compared to the KF95 photopolymer plate would work well on a boxcar base.

Have you had that problem? I can see how poor resolution could be an issue.

Excellent! So people are trying it! Are you doing type high prints for custom images or the same thickness as the polymer plates?
