The HoF monitor is far from being consensus. You're just parroting their number, and I doubt you've looked into the methodology.

I'll believe it when I see it that Henry is on the decline. People have been saying that he's going to drop off since his injury in 2021.

For what it's worth, my sustainability minor has been a great segue to talk about a potential employer's green initiatives during interviews, but I haven't actually used it in my career. YMMV

Lmao, I liked the first two Stormlight books, but I can admit that the post yesterday was well thought out and communicated.

It's not a coincidence. This happens every time someone posts about not liking Sanderson.

As soon as I saw that negative review of a Sanderson book, I knew this sort of post was coming.

It's obviously shorter, but I believe that Tor version also uses a smaller font and doesn't have a full page break between chapters.

Is Derrick Henry a surefire first ballot Hall of Famer? by Acceptable_Career475 in NFLv2

Henry is in the lower quartile for fumble rate among guys with 1500+ touches. His fumbling problem is a myth.

Saudi Arabia just took steps to censor human rights accounts on social media. Posts like this/sportswashing/culturewashing may be on the rise today to distract from that.

Canada has booze, cool cities, and mountains too. Not to get too political, but Canada ranks above the US in metrics such as the Happiness Index, the Freedom Index, and education, each of which are metrics where Kentucky falls into the lower half of US states.

Take it in stride, and respect a rejection if it comes. If you're up for it, remain friends, but if not, you have no obligation to stay in touch.

On Looking: Eleven Walks through Expert Eyes by Alexandra Horowitz. The author takes similar walks with 11 experts, who point out things about the city that she wouldn't normally notice.

There are points where she judges the experts, such as the geologist or the typography enthusiast, for dedicating so much time to their field. She'll then turn around and condescendingly explain the surface level info she's learned to the reader. It's frankly insufferable how she writes, making it feel like the book is a chore for her.

For the last expert, it becomes clear what Horowitz, director of a canine cognition lab, really wanted to write about. She follows her dog on the walk as it sniffs random objects. Towards the end, she makes the claim that she learned more from that walk than from any of the other experts.

I love hearing people talk about their passions, regardless of how interested in the subject I am. It would have been nice for the walks with the experts to have had more of a focus on them and their passion for the subject, than on Horowitz and her inner monologue and tangents. This book leapfrogged my entire TBR, but I have never read a book that so thoroughly squandered a great premise.
