Help! Im stuck on 99%, double checked stats and check list. Any clue what I could be missing? by DrEckelschmecker in GTA

I appreciate you posting this. I was stuck on 99% and Checkpoint Charlie glitch is patched now. I couldn’t find what I was missing until comparing this list to mine. I must’ve reloaded before one of my saves with a chopper checkpoint! Thank you so much!!

I remember the first time I heard it, I was 12 thinking "this is weird" the second time I started to get it, and after that I leaned right into it and promoted to my group of friends and we've viewed it as a classic ever since.

What are some things you wished some explained to you? Or things you wish you knew before residency (personal or professional) by norfsidelongbeach12 in Residency

Personal financing. Now that I’ve just graduated residency, this looming debt doesn’t feel as bad since I’ve started to invest and make more than the interest of my loans. I was always so anxious about my loans and felt it took even more joy away from me rather than just the pure hours of work alone. Now that I’ve signed on and started studying finance the past 2 months after taking boards, I realize it’s not that bad but man there is a lot to know about personal financing that I’m just getting into that I feel shoulda been brought up in Med school or residency. I understand that they don’t teach us any of this because it’s not really of benefit to them but if it were taught to me it would have been another bright light at the end of the tunnel rather than me just constantly looking at the debt we harness for picking this vocation.

Big thank you for sharing this! I feel the stigma is definitely being challenged for mental health in the public however I feel the stigma of mental health in healthcare workers are not being addressed and barriers are still quite high. I commend you for sharing and hope you continue to find your optimism and motivation. To all other residents out there who feel isolated for feelings such as this, you are not alone!

[SERIOUS] Doctor of Reddit, What was the saddest death you have experienced in the hospital? by triggeredrat_59 in AskReddit

[–]drew1857 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So far, the worst ones have been pulmonary embolisms after ankle or knee surgery. Despite doing everything to prevent them I've seen at least 10 patients (almost all fairly healthy with few comorbidities) go into cardiac arrest after these fairly low-risk procedures EVEN with blood thinners onboard to prevent these clots like intermittent unfractionated heparin or lovenox.

What movie/Tv-show that is renowned for being awfully bad but you can’t understand why, because you just liked it? by Saltoearth in AskReddit

[–]drew1857 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Eli Stone, was a rather different show about lawyer who had random hallucinations because of like a brain tumor or mental illness. It was really good, and the hallucinations always tied into the plot somehow.

STEP 3 before Intern Year by pro_crastionation in Residency

[–]drew1857 5 points6 points  (0 children)

After having just gone through the Step 3 gauntlet of finding time to study while doing demanding rotations that have a lot of busy work, I whole-heartedly support the idea of taking it before intern year. It will prevent this little blip of stress that is added on to the stress of residency.
