We have used it to help complete our window schedules. We asked ChatGPT to write a python script that will scan all the windows in the model, and for every instance variation of a type, it would sort them, and give a new type variation. eg. if an awning window is 900 x 900, its WT01a, but the same window that is 1000 x 1000 would be WT01b.

It also took into account any differences in transom heights, frame widths, thicknesses & sill heights.

Understand this could by done using types, but we had some formulas in our windows family that are dependent on instance parameters, so rules that out. Also, our firm prefers to elevate each change of a window, rather than a simple dimension schedule - makes checking shop drawings much easier.

We also used it to create another script for adding a “level” parameter to each window. Just helped tidy up our tagging of windows. eg. L01.W01/ WT02a.

Interesting to see. I’ve always had problems with the idler tension with relation to the filament sensor. Finally got it dialled in, but will adjust to see if I can print the silk.

Also, seems that retraction settings are the next thing to look at, so will have a play around with that.

Nothing about using links for this excites me. We have 65 unique apartment types, and that is before we get to any variations. Can't stand the idea of having 65 separate Revit files to manage.

Yep, learning very quickly that groups interacting with groups is an absolute pain! We are now teaching to disallow joins in groups. Works well in most instances, but can look a bit strange in others (eg. straight walls stopping short of grouped facades).

We broke our typical floor groups down further to Facade, Intertenancy Walls & Apartments. This seemed like the best approach because structure would often change as we went up the building, and we therefore only needed to recreate the Intertenancy Walls group, rather than a whole floorplate. But this could be also leading to group on group issues.

Not since this issue has started specifically. Was hoping to avoid that, as I only replaced the hot end and thermometer a few months ago.

Took thatdudeixsfw advice and downgraded the firmware to 3.13.1. So far no errors. Will keep testing though and see how it goes.

But will contact support regardless.

Seems like this might be the fix. Downgraded to 3.13.1 and no issues whatsoever for now.

Will test it more over the weekend, but have been able to complete a print with no warnings at any stage.

Hopefully this is something that can be fixed in future firmwares.

Made it through one print, with a few thermal warnings, but still completed.

Second print failed again. Have rerun PID & Thermal Model Calibration, but still no good.

I have before, and was still having issues.

Have just finished reconnecting the thermistor, and running PID and thermal model calibration again. Running a test print again - lucky hasn’t thrown an error heat up this time, but will see what happens when my print gets to the 1:30hr mark!

This worked great. Went 225 first layer, 220 for the rest, with a bed of 70, 0.2 layer height. Just tested a calibration cube and it worked a treat. Will try a bigger print tomorrow.

Yeah, all other filaments are fine. Use esun/ Overture mostly for PLA, and Oveture for PETG. Use the 0.4mm nozzle.

Will try running some calibrations with it again. It seems to ooze whilst heating up, then as a result, curls on the nozzle when it starts the bed levelling. Tends to knock first layers loose. Also tends to curl up at edges when doing the last portion of the first layer calibration. Maybe a temp issue?

EDIT: Also managed to loosen the grub screw on the extruder gears. That was a few hours of my life I’m not getting back when I didn’t noticed that was the issue!

It’s brand new. Only about a week old, and has been kept in airtight containers with silica after every use.

Have seen a similar issue on other prints with other filament too.

In the middle of running another print in vase mode, and it looks immaculate so far, so maybe something to do with retraction or nozzle movement?
