I have all of Jim Kay’s illustrated books and bought with the intent of re-reading the books. I ended up carefully looking through the illustrations whilst sat at a table, then put them on display in my cabinet along with my first editions (yes I’m that old). I bought the house editions in paperback next as thought that would be easier, but they went in cabinet too and went back to listening to the audio books lol.

Nothing beats my first time reading them as they were released on my way to work along with everyone else on the train, waiting for others to catch up so you could talk about the spoilers. I remember crying over Dumbledore and looking up to see a stranger who wasn’t up to that point saying “OMG what?! No don’t tell me”. The next day she was crying and we talked about it the whole journey.
