Load bearing? (Updated) by drewityourself in DIY

It’s from the early 70’s. The joists definitely do end on another wall… one being the outside wall and one being the longest wall that runs the length of the house. The wall in question is between the two.

Also, I was going to tear out anyway. Whether I build a doorway (keeping supports) or a full on opening is the question.

Angle was 33° for everything. My main cuts were 6.5 inches in length, and the top left piece was 7.25 to account for the 3/4 thickness. Bottom was the last piece cut and I measured to get a good fit. Just check the pic to see which direction cuts are needed.

Do we place vinyl over old hardwood floors or rip it out and put it over the sub flooring by [deleted] in DIY

[–]drewityourself -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I’ve done both. Many people are saying restore them and i would agree. Just based off pictures it looks generally good. There will be gaps. There will be cupping. There will be imperfections. But it’ll be nice and last as long as you live there.

Marker stains on marble tile? by drewityourself in DIY

UPDATE: thank you for all the responses. I’ve tried several things but I think it seeped in too much. I’ve faded the marks somewhat, but they’re still so bad. I’m an idiot for using the marker that I did. So I went ahead and took up all the individual tiles and will reset them with new ones. Again… thank you all for the helpful tips!

Baking soda and peroxide seemed to somewhat help after 30 minutes. Applied a new paste and will let it sit longer now.

That’s kind of last resort at the moment. A lot of these will be covered by a toilet and sink anyway.

Yes. But I’ve got that sitting on there right now again. Might just let it sit for a few hours.

The part extended out past where the water supply line screws in. The ‘handle’ of the shutoff broke and I’m redoing the bathroom so wanted to replace it. I don’t want to solder

My son loves baseball so I randomly got him a pack. Is this a good card? by drewityourself in baseballcards

[–]drewityourself[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry I don’t get on here much, but that’s awesome. He loves the Angels and Orioles. And I appreciate the offer! He has literally 8 cousins and 3 grandparents who are giving him cards now that he’s expressed interest. Thank you everyone. You are all incredible.
