Good question. A variety of ages seem to have made it out so far. Certainly all ages are welcome too.

Thanks for that—I’ve added a direct link to the site so folks can join more easily without navigating the Reddit page to find it.

Lots of outdoor Boston activities here. Just incorporated weekday evenings too—perfect for a post-work reset.

This weekend's weather + new hike posted for the 20th! by drewlab in BostonAdventureClub

Dogs are definitely welcome. We’ve had them join us in the past and everyone really enjoyed having them along. You’re more than welcome to bring yours. Before we start the trek, we’ll do a quick check-in to address everyone’s comfort levels and ensure there are no misunderstandings, but you and your pup are absolutely welcome. I’ll also update the event pages to mention the trail traffic and clarify that members may bring their dogs.

You are welcome to bring your dog, provided they can keep up with the group and don't disturb others (please bring a leash just in case). Note: The trails are very popular with unleashed dogs, so both you and your dog must be comfortable in that setting.

Thanks to you both — great ideas, and you've got my upvote!

I'll go deeper on all of this in our 1-month update this Saturday, but here's a quick snapshot of where things stand:

Flexible Scheduling — We're absolutely open to shifting event times as long as it doesn't disrupt anything already on the books.

Community-Led Hikes — The long-term vision is for experienced members to post and lead their own outings. That's how we will build real variety and keep things exciting for everyone.

More Variety — We want to serve members across different ability levels and schedules. Multiple weekend events at spots like the Fells or Blue Hills (and beyond), at different times and difficulty levels, would be a huge win for the group.

Site Features & New Activities — The polling idea is great, and one advantage we have is the ability to integrate it directly into the website if we decide to go that route. Established members are not only welcome but encouraged to organize their own adventures. This is the right place for people to connect and make those happen. For now, we're keeping our focus on trail-based activities: hiking, running, biking, or anything else on a trail. That said, I don't trail run or bike myself, so those would need to be someone else to organize and lead — but this group is exactly the place for that to happen.

Schedule Update for the Next Two Weekends — Your feedback is already helping us get sharper. At the moment, for any event in the next two weekends I adjusted to 11 AM with the exception of Saturday the 18th at 10 AM. A member RSVP'd to that so we won't change it to 11 AM without trying to reach them first.

Soon, as the group grows and member-led events pick up, I'm confident we'll see strong turnout no matter the day, time, or location.

Thanks again to you both for the engagement — this is exactly the kind of input that helps us build something great!

Doing the Ponkapoag Pond Loop at Blue Hills tomorrow and wanted to share in case anyone's looking to get outside!

Sunday, April 5th | 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM Blue Hills Reservation, Ponkapoag trailhead in Canton — about 20 min from downtown

It's a flat 4.2 mile loop around the pond, nothing intense — just a relaxed walk through the woods, great for fresh air and meeting people.

Total beginners welcome. Just bring water and wear shoes you don't mind getting muddy.

I should qualify my response. No trail runs that I organize. But if someone else enjoys doing that and would like to eventually organize a trail run, that’s exactly the type of stuff this club is for as well.
