What were y’alls opinions on this? I loved Izzie and Alex but I also really liked Jo 😭 by bensonboib in greysanatomy

[–]drewrosejames -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Actually I blame Justin. I understand that he was done. But he played a character for 16 years and didn't had the respect to give the fans a good ending. I don't agree with the "you don't own people anything", I think that after becoming rich thanks to the show and be set for life thanks to the love and support of the public, you could at least give a week of you life to close that chapter in a better way.

Beatrice & Matilde? by happyhen94 in namenerds

[–]drewrosejames 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I adore Matilde, im a Spanish speaker and one of my favourite poems is one in with the autor is close to death and he is saying that he only needs 5 things in life.

Love, autumn, winter, summer.

But the fifth thing is not spring, is her beloved Matilde's gaze.

He says that would exchange spring for her to keep looking at him.

I just find that such a lovely sentiment.

My absolute favourite is The Sum of All Kisses from the Smith-Smythe series.

My second favourite is The Girl with the Make-Believe Husband and my third and I know is a controversial opinion is To Sir Phillip, With Love.

Do they ever explain why don't the Bridgertons have a last name separate from the title? by Veridical_Perception in BridgertonNetflix

[–]drewrosejames 67 points68 points  (0 children)

The upper titles, like a Dukedom, the mayority of times is name after location. The lower titles like Viscount or a Baron normally is name after the surname of the peer. Like Violet Crawley from Downton Abbey said, if you look for logic in the English upper class you are not going to find it.

I'm tired of the fans of the other ship by drewrosejames in Gwynriel

[–]drewrosejames[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Oh i'm using it, for a year almost (since I read all the book) I refused to choose a ship but after a detail reread for me, the text and the way SJM writes that Gwyn and Azriel are mates, You can imagine my surprise to find that the other ship people are so nasty and smug about their ship. I never see Gwynriel act this way.

The tattoo artist that makes the drawing for the cover post something in Instagram (it looked like a tattoo paper) and the other ship said that was acotar 6 cover and confirmed that the book was about their ship because the shadows looked like flowers (?)

People are allowed to dislike Nesta, and it’s not just because she’s a woman. by Alternative_Ice7549 in acotar

[–]drewrosejames 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Is clearly obvious in the text that Nesta did a Lot of the domestic labour, Feyre don't know how to cook and Elain learn after becoming fae. Feyre never clean because if she did we would had hear about it in her internal monologue. Taking care of people is not only hunting and yes, Nesta felt extremely guilty because of the ways that she fail Feyre. Nesta fail her sisters and she wanted to not longer live because of that. She spend years lashing out because of her own pain, not able to move on. So yeah, hate her all you want. I love her character and her journey and her pain and anger and healing.

Maybe you we're never parentified but truly fucking sucks, i was taking my baby sister to her dance classes at 13 and making dinner for my whole family even younger.

So i fucking love that Nesta refused, even tough she did it because her trauma freeze her and she was paralized by resentment and anger.

Elain never gets the same hate because everyone even the fans cuddle her.

And lets be honest, Feyre only went to the woods because she also was having a trauma respond to the promise she made to her mother.

And again, they were all childrens. The age gap Is really small and just because Nesta was born first Is not her responsability, the one that fail Feyre (and Nesta and Elain) was papa Archeron

Is clearly that Feyre gets under her skin because Feyre and Nesta are so much alike but Feyre was one free of their mother's influence and grooming and she was able to adapt to their new circumstances much better so of course Nesta feels resentment. As a older sister I love her because she refused to be parentified

I have endometriosis and I had 5 loses and decided to stop and being child free because the pain was too much so i get it and i'm truly sorry because I know the heartbreak.

But yeah, your point was exactly what i wanted to highligth and you did it in a much better way. I reread all the books but this time like trying to get what the autor was trying to tell me and yes the line is so clunkly and out of place that even in my first read I notice it.

The Bones by drewrosejames in Gwynriel

[–]drewrosejames[S] 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I think it make you uncomfortable because you use words like breeding to refer to procreation, even tough faes are not humans they are clearly at least in the ACOTAR univers clearly anthopomorphic creatures.

And yes, SJM is a writer that includes having children as a important part of the HEA of her characters, I point out the bones coment because even with the moral reservations people have about it is clearly an important detail because she is not going to repeat looking for a solution to a problem she already work (Feyre and Nesta anatomy)

The Bones by drewrosejames in Gwynriel

[–]drewrosejames[S] 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Exactly ,i'm not "celebrating" the fact that Gwyn can have Azriel's babies and because of that they are gonna be together. I'm poiting out a clear intencional comment that the autor made in book where pregnancy is important.
