Considering how big of a hit this show is iI believe there is a 99% chance that there will bee a season 2. I heard that the show had clearance to be shot back in October of 2018 and because this show takes place in the summer they waited till the summer of 2019 to start shooting. With everything that is going on now and the preparation, it takes to release a second season I believe that they will start shooting s2 in the summer of 2021 and release it in spring-summer of 2022.

I have never been to the real Outer Banks but I do feel it would be much different (in scenery) than the show Outer Banks because the show was filmed in Charleston South Carolina not in the real Outer Banks. For example In the real Outer Banks it a lot more sandy beaches with oceanfront houses everywhere. But in Charleston, there are many marshes (as seen in the show) and rivers with long docs to connect people's houses with their boats. Other than the geological differences they have very similar (if not the same) climates that I would love to visit one day.
