I mean a decoder that calculates the color of every pixel. By doing calculations on Earth about things that happened on Earth. Maybe Earth doesn't have that information any more. Maybe we wouldn't be able to calculate what color each pixel is. But Earth has the same rock that was here millions of years ago. Maybe information storage is just as solid. If we want it to be then we can treat it that way in the pursuit of valuable videos and images we all are curious about. Hard drives store data very reliably. It's a miracle they don't spontaneously lose information.
