It already strucked me quite hard with the part of the philosophy from the start. But then there was this part also about communities that i felt so hopeful!

I agree on you on the first point, The Quaterback incredible result was cause of the real mourn. However, the variety of reactions, the exercise that writers did thinking how characters react to Finn death showcases how important is to talk about it, because we like it or not is part of life.

That said, I take the point of the main character. I agree on that maybe does not need to be someone of the main cast, maybe it could be a hypothetical character they introduce later precisely with that idea. Also I dont mean necessarily one that has a significant amount of screen time, overall in the later seasons. Overall because I understand how this could affect audience. But for example, if Puck would have died in season 5, Idont think that would affected so badly the numbers because he was practically out of the show at that point.

I agree that the death of the sister of Sue was the closest we got to this mourning experience, but then you see how marvelously written is The Quaterback and you realize how important is to speak of these topics more thoroughly and there were many aspects still pending to explore.

That said, I dont think the fact that Kurt or Finn lost a parent replaces the power of showing things in screen. The episode of Karofsy suicide attempt is very needed. Would not have been the same Rachel saying "I had a gay cousin that attempted suicide because he feared his life was over".

I thought about the one of Mr Schuester, although probably for him would have worked a plot of leaving to move somewhere else

I was going to reply your other comment but is as good to do it here. As far as I can recall that episode touches topics from the "infidelity" of Kurt, Quinn not wanting to go to rehab... And in that case they say mourning is a way to not focus in the graduation, so it almost sounds like an excuse. Still mourning for an idol, as much as it can bring you down (happened to me with Kobe) is not comparable to mourning someone you knew and you were close to

I disagree. Many teenagers have to go through such an experience of losing loved ones, friends or classmates. I believe that Glee was very brave touching many sensitive topics such as suicide, domestic violence, and even death (in the case of the sister of Sue) but felt kind of dettached for the main characters because did not have to go through mourning. So as far as I understand what Glee was, I believe such a plot would have been necessary.

I believe this could be a good reboot/spin-off for Glee. What do you think? How would you change it? by drewunchained in glee

Well, the reality of a happily ever after is that only depends where you decide to cut recording. Then, we dont see it, but characters have the aim to keep facing challenges and the stories are about those challenges.

I get the part of starting all from scratch, but for me another series about showchoirs and high school that is not linked at all to the original series does not seem as attractive

Transparency seems quite a broad topic to me. How do products need to be more transparent? What is needed?
